I was dead for a million years until I was born. I will be dead again one day.. Perhaps that's all life is. A moment of self. Then back to the void.

The idea of eternal oblivion brings me peace and happiness.

If I cease to exist, i.e. have awareness after death like when going into anesthesia, or fall asleep before you start dreaming, I would be okay with this I think. There's so many theories out there on the Internet about greys, aliens, conspiracies, everyone claiming they have the final answer, I almost go back to the Heaven and Hell paradigm (is that the word) I was raised with and do the whole "Jesus save us all" thing before I die, or that would be my ideal lol.

Yeah, what if the moment you die, you are reborn again? What if death isn't eternal at all? What if we died a million times and every time we just got pushed out of a vagina into a new identity? That's what scares me. What if suicide is a test. If you commit suicide again, you are doomed to another life of misery until you break the cycle and overcome suicide and die naturally and get reborn into a happy life for eternity.

I'm tired.
There is quite a bit on that subject if you search for it. I'm tired too...and the idea of just birthing out again is not my idea of fun. I read one person's suggestion that you come back right away and then you have a great life and somehow during your best moment in that life, you die. Another one said according to how you kill yourself means how you will suffer your next life. Sends shivers down my spine to contemplate that constant rebirth.

Well said, this is also a fear of mine. I've read another theory somewhere about "souls" being lost if one doesn't develop their spiritual energies and discipline, it was on a Spiritual Satanist website but it's pretty fringe so i don't give it a lot of credit, but I know some members who were once friends of mine and seem to be doing quite well, so I can't say it doesn't work but it's hard to get disciplined and know where to start with chakras and such. At least from where I am it's all quite overwhelming to even commit to one view as the dogmatists of any system say.

But the reincarnation thing is also a theme in this theistic Satanism I read about I think, if I understand right. And it makes more sense to be reincarnated than to spend an eternity anywhere, people have scoffed at me before for going the whole NDERF blue skies fluffy clouds happily ever after thing because it was too lazy or something, but well, that person had an axe to grind with me. Lol.

Oblivion is peaceful. I went through 13 billion years of it before I was born, with no recollections whatsoever :)
