This. Once unconscious, pain is over.No conscious, no suffering.
This. Once unconscious, pain is over.No conscious, no suffering.
Are you really sure? :) Remember that when you're unconscious, time doesn't matter. If the variety in which our Universe is placed is infinite, it contains an infinite number of Universe, or the Universe itself is infinite. The matter of time is when we gain consciousness again as some form of existence in some reality. Exactly as it was before we appeared in this one here and now as people. Even if it were to last for billions of times more years than Graham's number.This. Once unconscious, pain is over.
Stop. Absolute nightmare scenario would be walking around in your head like Jim Carry in 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' trying to stay aliveThere are definitely no guarantees when it comes to something like death. It could be just a split second and you're completely gone into the void - nothing. It could be that split second stretches on for what seems like an eternity and the feelings that you have at the time of your death are just stretched out until they themselves are the void. It could be that you die and see the white light and go to somewhere that is beautiful and amazing, like a dream, and then again, you could see red flames and go to a place that is nothing but pure anguish and speculation of what you've done for an eternity. No one knows. No one will ever know, because no one has ever died for a significant period of time and come back from it to tell the story. In my opinion, it all depends on what you believe, and I tend to believe that whatever you're feeling and thinking at the time of your death, whatever you believe is on the other side, is what is going to BE on the other side. If you believe you will see your loved ones again, friends, those who have passed before you, etc., you will. If you believe it's going to be nothingness, then it will be. That's just my opinion, though, and the fear of death being worse than life is certainly a possibility and makes me wonder.
True. This reminds me of the famous Shakespearen monologue "To Be Or Not To Be" from Hamlet in the nunnery scene.I'd imagine it gives peace in the sense you feel nothing. But nobody can confirm anything, only speculate.
This does not prove or disprove anything, but found it food for thought:The only thing guaranteed is that your body will disintegrate and the atoms who were once you, will become part of something else.

Ultimately, the conclusion was that the vast majority choose to live because of the fear of what lies beyond, be it nothingness, or a better continued existence on another plane / dimension, or an "Almighty something" that frowns upon mortals who carry out ctb.
This does not prove or disprove anything, but found it food for thought:
id just like to know what he is smoking .
Does it?
Because we are alive lol. Do you remember the year 1919? No you don't because you didn't exist. And you won't exist again. Except as dust. And that's ok
This documentary shows and talks about also when people die in the wrong way that their consciousness will be restless in the afterlife. Or when people didn't let go or did not round up life in a respectful way
Buddhism, Hinduism, and other similar religions say we reincarnate. They do speak of different dimensions of existence though. Perhaps, reincarnation can actually be turned down based on a person's desires?
Christianity say we go to Heaven / souls are at rest until Book of Revelation occurs. Maybe souls are going to be brought back to this dimension?
In this thread, we hear that dead relatives are there to comfort those close to death.
How are bad people punished then? People who are truly bad cannot be convinced they did something bad.
I'm just trying to create a picture here guys.
I agree because It's gobbledygook that makes up human beings, and Shakespeare was really good at observing the human condition. Most people do not act because of fear, and the fear of the unknown a major factor.I found it to be a load of gobbledygook , id just like to know what he is smoking .
The truth is out there, oh no I'm doing an X file now, lolYou Could write a new series of the Twilight Zone with all these far out claims lol
How do you know we won't exist again? When the Earth and our galaxy didn't exist, there was "nothingness," like you have described. So what you're saying is, when there is "nothingness," you can't exist again. Yet here we are, alive and existing, from nothingness.
We aren't from nothingness. Our parents fucked and gave us life. It's not some kind of magic. Very simple and basic. When that life ends you go back to not existing.
And why do you want to exist again? I've had enough of existing. It would be great to get a do-over but I don't want to be conscious for the rest of eternity.
So there's no afterlife? Just nothingness?Peace is only a feeling possible to obtain in LIFE. There is no peace after, or in death. Peace is a human feeling. The brain cannot feel when dead.
So there's no afterlife? Just nothingness?
Same void like before being born I guess. There definitely is something after death. We just can't comprehend or know what it is, since we have not experienced death yet.
50/50 chance of there being something and nothing at all. There definitely is something after death. We just can't comprehend or know what it is, since we have not experienced death yet.
