Yes. No conscious, no suffering. But that's up to your own philosophical or religious outlook on life value.

Very difficult question

I am not sure it does. Certainly if all consciousness were to vanish from the universe it would guarantee peace.

I'd imagine it gives peace in the sense you feel nothing. But nobody can confirm anything, only speculate.

My opinion is that it would create peace within this life, a sense of tranquility on this plane of existence not sure about what follows....

I second this. OP if you believe peace is feeling no pain sorrow or sadness then death does guarantee peace. If you believe peace is feeling calm or at peace with everything then death doesn't provide that. Someone a few days ago said they had gone unconscious for 3 days due to an attempt and if I asked if it was peaceful, they initially agreed. After a bit, they said they now believe peace was a bad description because it was nothing, He was gone for 3 days and it was instant, nothing to feel, just nothing.

There are definitely no guarantees when it comes to something like death. It could be just a split second and you're completely gone into the void - nothing. It could be that split second stretches on for what seems like an eternity and the feelings that you have at the time of your death are just stretched out until they themselves are the void. It could be that you die and see the white light and go to somewhere that is beautiful and amazing, like a dream, and then again, you could see red flames and go to a place that is nothing but pure anguish and speculation of what you've done for an eternity. No one knows. No one will ever know, because no one has ever died for a significant period of time and come back from it to tell the story. In my opinion, it all depends on what you believe, and I tend to believe that whatever you're feeling and thinking at the time of your death, whatever you believe is on the other side, is what is going to BE on the other side. If you believe you will see your loved ones again, friends, those who have passed before you, etc., you will. If you believe it's going to be nothingness, then it will be. That's just my opinion, though, and the fear of death being worse than life is certainly a possibility and makes me wonder.

Idk, when ppl die say in hospice, their bodies shut down starting with no food and water. They say a kind of euphoria comes over them, hallucinating, being visited by loved ones who have passed, the bright light, etc. Theres no way to know how much if any is really out there. We all get there, eventually. Ctb is really just an alteration of when, how and other circumstances. I do hope theres some kind of love there. Fkn knows there wasnt any here for me lol its my turn in death. Damnit

I guess the feeling of peace is something that can only be experienced during that time of peace or shortly after a period of time that you can compare too. For example when you have a good nights sleep, you know it's been a good nights sleep in comparison to all the other shot nights sleep you have had

No, I think reincarnation is a real thing.

To break this cycle, you have to become enlighten which is hard.

You have to be free of desires and know that you are more than your physical body.

Yes, wanting to die is a desire too.

When you pass away, you have to know how to navigate your new out of body experience properly to escape the light that has come to claim your soul.

Meditation and living right are few things that can help achieve this goal.

Nope. I refuse! Im n o t c o m i n g b a c k!

I also at times wonder if ctb is what stops the cycle. Like taking control, saying Im done, no more.

I believe by going through these earth experiences, your soul advances faster but ultimately it's your choice to reincarnate.. as long as I don't have to come back to this shit hole I'll be happy.

I believe many soul's choose not to come down here because Earth's tests are just too hard but by going through these earth experiences, your soul advances faster.. It's ultimately your choice to reincarnate.

You subscribe to the belief that the Earth is a school. I subscribe to the belief that the Earth is a prison.

What about Buddhist monks who spend their lives in monasteries? They don't have to put up with half the crap that a normal person does. It seems like they are training/getting prepared for something. Like this life does not matter.

From a Christianity perspective, why are we waiting for Jesus to return to set things right? Did something go wrong, are we trapped? Why does the events described in the Book of Revelation have to happen?

I am not trying to be rude. Just sparking a conversation. Maybe you can tell me/us something I/we didn't know.

I'd say maybe. If there is no life after death, I don't think you could qualify non existence as peace. but if there is an afterlife, It could be peace, but we can't know. The only thing we can be certain about is, that death brings change.

As I want to end my suffering, I decided to search to see if I could find any evidence of an afterlife I have read lots of books, articles and watched lots of video's, on YouTube there are thousands of stories of NDE and reincarnation I was going to put the links to NDE's where the surgeons are shocked after speaking to the patient and they describe everything when they were dead but I think it may be against the rules. so maybe there is something wonderful waiting for us after we depart this cruel unforgiving world, mind you we will all find out one day. I am frightened of reincarnation I can't do this again and again I looked at Ryan who said he was Marty Martyn in a previous life, he got a lot about his life correct I think he got 55 questions right, there seems to thousands of cases now we have the internet.

Cheers Geo

My motivation for ctb is actually because I'm hoping it takes me to my own heaven, and that heaven is my girl, I'll get a fresh start to do everything right with her and I don't mind hitting a couple of bumps on the roads, but if anything's going to be different; I'm going to make sure that I'll be by her side forever in this own version of my heaven.

Yeah I read about earth being a prison but I really didn't want to believe it as being forced to reincarnate is probably my worst fear. Is there any way to break the cycle other than becoming enlightened?

Same as with life it doesn't. Nobody knows what death is, I don't know what happens with our mind and soul (if we have one), I only can say what happens to our body.

My theory (and it makes sense if you think about it) is that, once you're dead, you can't experience time. Since you have no consciousness capable of experiencing time, googolplexes and googolplexes of years go by in the blink of an eye. Therefore, something has to happen. If it's not reincarnation, then it has to be your life reset somehow (maybe in some alternate universe?)

People say there is nothing after death. But if there is nothing after death, then how were we born here as humans in the first place, when there was no Earth, no Milkyway solar system; nothing?
