They are beautiful, gentle creatures. I would love to have one but, my environment wouldn't be good for any animal. Let alone me!
I used to work in a large warehouse. One morning, we were chatting before work and I looked down and one was sitting next to my feet! Poor thing. I imagine it would usually run like hell but I suspect it was too tied. We put it in a box and gave it some grass. Someone offered it a tangerine but, I doubt it had ever seen one! It liked the grass though.
They would lay down poison for rats/ mice there so- I was so worried that it might have eaten some. I rang the RSPCA I think in the end because, I didn't know whether it was safe to release it- if it had ingested poison but, they thought it unlikely. It hopped away ok. I was halfway imagining taking it home and building it an enclosure but, being wild, I think it was likely happier going back there.
Friends at school kept rabbits. They also built a small pond at one point and watched in horror as the rabbit followed a frog into it! Maybe because they both hopped, it felt some affinity. It was fine- by the way.
Lol- the names of those rabbits are hilarious- Carnage and Mangler?
I love lots of animals but, I can understand why people do especially love rabbits. They're just so perfectly cute. Were yours house rabbits or, mainly outside?
