im just 20 years old and im expected to work, drive, take my parents to the doctor as they decay from old age,. I can hardly get out of my bed, let alone fulflil all these tasks that are expected of me. Like I have to handle my fathers business in a few years and I doubt I'll be able to handle so many employees. I can hardly talk, let alone instruct them, guide them around have them to report to me. Not being able to do anything and not fulfil these responsibilities is also another reason for me to CTB
What about you ?

At the age of 67, I can say this, you are NOT giving yourself enough credit to yourself. At the age of 20, you are just starting to spread your wings and please do not be so hard on yourself.

I have trained and mentored folks through the decades and you will not only do good, but you will also be great at what clicks with you. It takes time, age (some experience) and the like, and you will work into whatever you want to do just fine.

You are a warm and intelligent person.

Walter

Thank you Walter. It does mean a lot. Im just afraid it's going to get worse as time moves on because I doubt I could be able to do those things . All of my cousins are doing something with their lives and that includes driving, working or something meaningful. Im the only one who's like this, and I understand it may time for me to do those things, I still think it'll be impossible for me to. Nevertheless, your words do mean a lot and im very grateful to have you here for advice and support. Please take care of yourself!

i can relate. i'm a shut-in neet, bit older than you and haven't left for 6 years after leaving college and have to fully rely on my father (also suicidal) who is constantly ODing which means more often than not there is no food, no electricity, no heating etc. i can't afford all the costs it takes to begin driving even if technically i am able to. the only thing i can wait for is for him to either die naturally or kill himself. he's aggressive and emotionally abusive but the only family member i have. it's too conflicting. if i didn't have my two dogs i'd have been carefree for a long time now

to whywhere, i don't know if you actually care or you just type to make yourself feel better but what you are saying are just useless platitudes. spreading your wings doesn't matter when the only direction is down

Im sorry for that. It really is just so difficult and society expects us to rot or either step up and be normal(which is impossible given the circumstances). Walter's words actually helped me quite a lot and I think he's an extremely kind soul. Atleast to me it seems like he cares very deeply. I think his words are meaningful.

As much I am disgusted and embarrassed, yep. Toothbrushing
Congrats on the honesty and courage 🫂

I force myself to do the basic stuff because I know from experience that if you neglect them you tend to sink deeper and faster.

That's me, I really hate having more responsibilities every year. I feel like I haven't grown enough to be able to manage them, like if I'm a few years behind most others. It's one of tha main reasons I want to ctb.

I'm 35 and my ability to cope with it all snapped last year when my mum died.
I used to cram so much in everyday and now I can barely work 4 hours a day without being overwhelmed.
