i feel like my dreams are more real than actual reality, like my actual life is dreaming, not being awake. i dont feel anything when im awake, just numb 24/7 or sometimes empty, i just "feel" things cognitively if that makes sense, for example if something upsets me I'd think "thats sad" but i wouldn't really feel anything. same thing with understanding everything that happens around me, i know its real but i cant comprehend it, i dont feel anything connecting to it. everything just feels dull and muted, it doesn't help that my life isn't exactly eventful, its just the same day over and over, nothing happens to actually ground me to reality. at least when im dreaming its all the opposite, i can feel emotions and everything seems more vivid and real, i get to actually experience things so it's seems more "real" overall.

i know a lot of people prefer being asleep to being awake because obviously sleeping feels nice, but i haven't heard of anything like what im experiencing now and I'd like to know that this isn't something uncommon

I don't dream and if I do they are not vivid at all. Maybe because I don't sleep enough

I still feel things in reality but I feel so much more when dreaming, it kinda feels like a more full color spectrum and I can feel a lot more than normal. I just dread waking up bc of stuff like that

I also have very vivid dreams. I wake up disoriented and confused about where I am or I think my dreams actually happened. It's sad when I realize my dreams weren't real unless they were nightmares then I'm glad.

Feeling like every day is the same is a horrible feeling and being numb is not good either. Sometimes I feel like real life isn't real too and I'm disconnected. Or it's way too real. I do think it's disassociation. Sorry you have to deal with this, it's hard. There are grounding exercises you can try. Idk if you have, but they can help.

Your Omori pfp is fitting. I like that game too

Some dreams of mine are so realistic - I can't tell if it actually happened or I've dreamt it.

i also thought about that but im not sure, i always feel like this for months so i just thought it was depression, isn't dissociation more severe?
Dissociating can come with severe depression, you could be having emotional blunting but the fact you feel like you're dreaming all the time sounds dissociative to me. It's been a minute since I researched it so I would recommend looking into it yourself but there's a few different types of dissociation. If you've had a lot of trauma it would make sense but if you've been depressed or under extreme or just prolonged stress that could be it too.

Lately I've been having dreams that feel very real, and it also leaves me wondering sometimes if it actually happened or not.

I've had dreams of peaceful times, to someone trying to shoot me, and some of me walking down a street at night.

One dream I have had on multiple occasions is I'm in the woods, and I hear someone screaming for help. After following the sound for a while, I come to a clearing where it's like a whole new world. All the trees are green(not like a forest, they are spread out), the flowers are blooming, the streams are crystal clear, the grass looks like it's just been cut.... it's the picture perfect paradise for me.... Then I wake up.

I'm a diagnosed system with DID and this is one of the most current symptoms of dissociation as someone mentioned up there. Depression also leads to dissociation, it's not a common symptom but it can happen, dissociation lasts for very long periods of time but you should check a bit about DID if it's way to persistent about it.

Here you have an article explaining dissociation and depression!
