Does anyone think there will be life after death? Will we see our loved ones in heaven? I just want to give God a big hug and tell him how sorry I am that I couldn't make it in life.. I hope he understands and welcomes me with big open arms that will be my first time ever being happy

I strongly belive in afterlife. For me afterlife means that I will be able to meet loved ones, do things that I love to do on Earth and realising my dreams...No earthy problems like money etc. I think there is God (or something like God) but for sure not that from Bible and other religions. And that would be "stupid" to just have life and then die. Reincarnation and "there's nothing after death" sounds for me not like any fun. Maybe after death we're starting get to know God that is seemingly absent in this realm. In general talking about what's after death and finding answer to "Does God exist?" is hard and lot of people have own thougths on it.

I really like your view on this. Id like to do things that I can do here but i dont know if i really believe in religion or anything. Maybe a higher power exists. Idk.
People believe in all sorts of things. We're a credulous species.
We believe in homeopathy, flying horses, virgin births, magic underpants, that the garden of Eden was in Missouri. That the universe was created a thousand years after the Mesopotamians had invented beer, by a deity obsesssed with Palestine who hates gay people and for reasons unknown absolutely forbids the wearing of cotton and wool at the same time. We believe when our brain cells die, the consciousness that resides within them magically not only survives without said brain cells, but that it travels to some invisible astral plane where, as luck would have it, all the people we liked happen to be there too* and none of the people we didn't like can get in.
In fact we believe so much arrant nonsense that it's harder to come up with an idea that someone somewhere won't believe.
*I've never got a satisfactory answer from an afterlife enthusiast on whether when you go to Heaven, you turn up at the Pearly Gates the same age you died -or you get to pick an age. Be weird for those looking forward to seeing their favourite kindly old grandparent if said grandparent was a surly teenager again and younger than the grandchild. Or what if when you die you're stuck with the age and shape you're in when you die? That'd suck if you died from morbid obesity or wasted away to nothing from cancer like my parents did. That'd be a good argument for killing yourself early while you're still in good shape.
Or maybe you just turn into balls of light. But then where do you keep your stuff? Do you even need stuff on an Astral Plane? If not, what do you *do* all day?
So many questions...

No. Do you remember your life before you were born? Is there any evidence of afterlife other than people feeding into our grief at losing loved ones? I dont believe in any of it BUT everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and if that helps you in your quest then I respect your decision to believe

Not at all, at least not as described by any religious text. Everyone in existence is condemned to some form of hell or another by not believing in some specific version of a deity. That is patently absurd. It seems obvious to me that religion evolved right alongside humanity as a tool to assuage people's fears about death while also scaring them into having a conscience.
I like the idea that we are an eventuality of this universal testing ground, here to help the universe figure itself out. For a brief time, our bits of matter are bestowed with consciousness in pursuit of that effort. Whether consciousness is just the sum of our very complex parts or something supernatural, I believe the former but who would be disappointed to find out there is something else. No matter what, we are part of something much bigger than ourselves, something beyond imagination.

I don't think there is a afterlife. Like you go back to before you were born. You just dont exist anymore. However, I do hope that there is a afterlife. Someone posted here something like.. "When you die you are finally able to wake up and feel the real world filled with happeniess and no sadness" I'm hoping for that
No. And I don't want there to be an afterlife. Most of the people I've met in my life I honestly wouldn't want to see again. This is my first post on the forum. Hello everyone..

Not traditional afterlife, but I think some kind of secular "reincarnation" may exist. After you die, unfathomably long epochs of time will pass by, so the conditions necessary for consciousness to arise will likely be met at some point again, even if those odds are infinitesimally small. Of course your neurons are destroyed at death, so there can't be any memory or baggage from the previous life at least.
Logically speaking there's no point in believing in things which aren't proven. Nonexistence after death sounds a lot more likely than some magical after life. Religions were undeniably primarily created for the sake of influencing the masses, explaining things to which humanity couldn't find logical explanations yet and most importantly to take away the fear of death.
I believe in reincarnation funny enough. I think we live so many lives until our souls reach transcendence, and then our souls will finally know peace.
I already fucked up this life. I'm ready for the next one.

I think there is nothing, and that's truly a comfort to me. there are people I would love to believe I would be reunited with (like my brother, and my beloved bird) but I don't think that's real. I think there is absolutely nothing after this life.

Omg same. I'm a strong believer in karma and I think I'm paying dearly for sins I haven't even committed in this life. Maybe in my previous life I CTB'd before karma caught up with me...

Lol. I don't know about that one. Some souls should never be allowed back on this earth. If transcendence exists, descent should be a thing too. Or perhaps limbo, evil spirits are most certainly a thing.
