There's a few reasons for the crossed out names. It's almost always done by the owner of the account apart from when it's a banned member. It really only signifies a closed account. How that comes about varies. Some do it before the ctb. Some do it because they go into recovery and move on. Other have family/friends do it if they ctb and then there's the bans imposed by admin/mods for rule breaks. Sometimes controversially.
some names are crossed out, some grey and some say deleted. awhile back the mods were updating things and the way the name got crossed out kept changing for a bit. it doesnt really indicate anything specific except that they arent here anymore. it can mean they past away, got banned, or left on their own.
