Do you think suicide should be accepted as "normal"

the only thing that is guaranteed in life is suffering.
suffering is unacceptable and unnecessary. non-existence is better than life, because there is zero suffering
If someone is physically ill and suffering then it should be normal and legal. If someone is physically healthy but depressed or have other problems - I think they should get helped, as there are many depressed people who recovered and have happy lives. Suicide is not the only option to the problems

What if suicide is the option they want? Who are you to decide for other people that they should continue living? Even if they are cured, they will at best live a further few decades and then die anyway or at worst have nothing to build upon because their mental illness robbed them of many years and opportunities.
Ultimately, everyone should be able to die for whatever reason they please, even if it is a reason you deem trivial.
After all, people are permitted to have children for the most trivial reasons as well.

I just think sometimes people think suicide is the only option. Maybe their depression/problems might be helped and these people can become really happy. For example young people who might just have temporary problems. I don't think any reasons are trivial, if someone is suffering it is always vaild. Just sometimes there are better options than suicide
Yes. A right to die should be a basic human right. Nobody asked to exist in the first place so we have no obligations to stay alive. Maybe complete normalisation might have an negative effect on society as people would act on impulse, but there should be an euthanasia system where someone's desire to die is understood and accepted.
It is barbaric to make people put up with extreme suffering and suicide should be recognised as an rational response for this, not something we have to prevent at all costs. It would make many people's lives better knowing there is a way out just in case things get unbearable and could make up for all the pain that this cruel existence has given them. There needs to be no stigma, open discussions, and the pro choice viewpoint acknowledged.
Same except I would add the caveat that you should stick around if you brought life into this world that depends on you for survival. Wait until they're independent or have a backup. That said, the right to die is fundamental. It's the only natural right any of us really have.
Hi! I have to admit, when I read your post, it helped me a lot! I was in a bad place today and you @loopylou helped out! YOU are a great global family member and please never go anywhere. You are awesome! Have a great up coming weekend and lots of smiles and hugs! Walter
No, I don't want anyone I know to die. My mum's not well and the thought of her wanting to ctb. Omg I don't want other people I know to ctb. It's ok for me but other people dying will tip me over the edge
It's worth mentioning that suicide has been seen as something perfectly normal in some societies of the past, perhaps most notably the Roman Empire and Feudal Japan.

You may include the custom of dueling; I imagine it to be fairly simple to commit suicide that way. You only have to insult the best shot you can find and you are ready to go.
I suppose it all comes down to beliefs without any form of rational thought.
People believe that their life is the most valuable thing they have, they never even contemplate what comes after, if anything.
Since they believe their life is the most valuable thing they have, they believe your life is also the most valuable thing you have too.
So they believe that they must do everything in their power to extend it for as long as possible, even if you are in absolute agony for how ever long it takes.
Rational though would say - this person is bound to die. This person is in extreme agony. Why prolong that pain and suffering when the outcome is inevitable?
My reasons for no: There is a small population of young children/teens and even some adults who SH (for example) for the attention because they want to be doted on, or because it is the 'cool' thing to do, not because they are suffering a mental illness as such. I have seen teenagers be taken to hospital for SH by ambulance after leading authorities on a wild goose chase and to them it was just funny and 'cool'. I find these few cases so frustrating as it invalidates the feelings of those who are really suffering and can take resources away and bias professionals that MH isnt as serious as it is. if suicide became the norm, I feel there would be a huge chance that people like this would also do it to be 'cool' and not because they were ill.
Yes: Because there are those out there like so many of us that are suffering and who have tried for years to get help and get better and there is no end in sight. I feel that we should be allowed the choice on whether we continue or not and that our suffering should be recognised just as much as those dying from a physical and terminal illness. I feel there should be a protocol in place such as providing evidence of our history or something to show that we have tried/suffered for a while but I feel that if we can prove this, we should be allowed to pass in a way we choose with dignity and respect.

I think suicide should be accepted by society. They accept executions and abortions so why not someone's wish to end their own life. It is a personal choice and the reasons somewhat private. Exiting on my terms allows me some level of dignity that life has not. I guess the best slogan is "my life, my body, my choice",

Yes. Accepting suicide as a choice one can make has made me happier and more liberated as well as helped me cope with the loss of others. Normalizing suicide helps those who choose it and those who have had loved ones choose it.
