Do you think journalists read this forum what do you want to tell them?

I read sometimes in media about suicide forums and there were probably scientist who made a study about this forum. It is not unlikely that sometimes journalists, scientists or law enforcement employes read this forum. Some people thought the law enforcement wants to know if hard drugs are traded on this forum like fentanyl. But that are only rumors.
The articles on websites like Vice are often very biased against this forum.
My thoughts about this is: This forum is a product of the human society and the human life itself. The inequality in our society causes people being trapped in poverty or without social security and finding themselves in hellish situations. Furthermore life can be very cruel, extremely painful and nightmarish. Suicide can be a rational choice one can make in life. The government has no right to forbid suicide. We live in open liberal societys. If there is no access to assisted suicide it is obvious that there is the need for a place to discuss suicide methods.
This forum is not perfect. But it is one of the rare places on the internet where you are not mocked/ harassed if you speak openly about suicide. You can agitate as much as you want against this forum but as long as there is freedom there will be always people who want to die.
Don't try to ban suicide instead help to improve our society in order to give people better alternatives.

Journalists pick and choose what they want to feature in their articles. Which one will generate viewership and revenue. They'll cherry pick the bad like CTB, end of life, and suicide methods, they'll interview people who have lost loved ones to suicide to spin a narrative that we are responsible for their deaths. They will never or care to listen or read about the tragedy of human suffering displayed from all walks of life on this forum. The stories contained within this site carries a heavy weight that most people do not want to discuss, let alone believe. They don't want to acknowledge that the mental health system is broken, they don't want to confirm that their suicide awareness campaigns have failed, they don't want to feel ashamed that they wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars on medicines and therapies that never worked, and they do not want to feel guilty that they let a loved one die of suicide.

No, they'll just concentrate on dishing out sensationalist articles with an emotional appeal that we're all evil criminals with mental problems killing children. If they're reading now they'll only read this last sentence and go "BOO-YA WE GOT THIS MOTHERFUCKA RIGHT HERE"

That journalists have been arrested, have been injured, have been maimed, have been killed, have been banned in countries without freedom for speaking, for reporting. So please don't try to stop the voices here, or twist what we say, lest you be more like the dictators, and authoritarian regimes that have tortured and murdered your peers, your colleagues.

This forum places emphasis on our right to die, which should be a basic human right, the option to choose to when we end our own lives. Many countries deny us this instead basically forcing us to stay alive at all costs. Some people just want to be free from suffering. Many have tried everything to get better and yet they get nowhere.

To me this forum reflects the fact that Individual humans decide whether their life is worth living, rather than society dictating this. Life can be incredibly cruel and many people simply do not want to experience decades filled with pain. This is the one place free of stigma where people can talk about this without judgement. It is very much needed and helps people who are otherwise isolated.

As a side note, the only thing that bringing public attention to this website is going to do is bring more traffic to it, which I assume most people wanting to write an OP ed about it wouldn't want. The fact that most articles about this website don't disclose the name of the site appears to show that journalists on some level understand this

Yes I do. I think that sometime in the future there will be a piece specifically on this forum, whether it's in a newspaper, online article, magazine or even a Netflix documentary.
I'm sure it will be spun according to the beliefs of the journalist or the company they work for, I doubt this forum will ever get a fair shake.

Don't regurgitate the same old stories every other journalist does - ooh that site is bad. Look at the support offered here, think of the alternative views. We are humans with valid experiences and viewpoints. Try to understand us. When we say 'the NHS isn't fit for purpose' listen.

Tell our story cos when we try - nobody listens. No one pays attention to the 'crazy' people.
