yes, on and off - cutting always made me squirmy for some reason, so hair pulling/scratching in my childhood turned into burning in my late teens. It's a different kind of pain, and, at least for the way I do it (heat up object, use as brand), it takes less conscious thought. Working myself up to put that metal down is the worst part but, unlike trying to work myself up to wield a dismantled pencil sharpener in my pre-teens, I'm able to do it. Getting over that instinctual hesitation every time kind of gives me a mental/even physical buzz and energy, and early on it's honestly what made me realize that CTB can be just as possible and kinder than what I've already demonstrated I'm willing to do

No, I attempted during the worser years of my life, but I couldn't really do it. I don't like pain

unfortunately, started around 10 and never stopped. it's just my go to when things are getting hard.
