I get a bit of a thrill off staying up so late. I like to see how long I can stay up (sometimes I get close or break a PR). My ability to focus goes up too (I have ADHD) and I can get more done or at least I feel I do. I don't tend to get any hallucinations or things like that unless I do those kind of drugs too which I have been staying away from. I do get mental images (visualizations) in my head which is uncommon for me and sometimes it's easier to get a song stuck in my head. When I'm ready for bed, being relaxed is easy because I'm so tired; to finally rest after so long is a hard to describe feeling.
Mind you, I'm not that hardcore, I can't stay up for over two days straight or I wouldn't likely be enjoying it as much and probably have negative side effects. Everyone is different too, so It's probably not enjoyable for everyone.
