DMC keeping details

Some posters are worried about DMC keeping personal details - can I ask what the issue is here?

I'm relatively new around here, and before this post, I hadn't seen anyone mention this concern -although it is absolutely a justified concern.

Does anyone know DMC's technical policies (e.g. keeps all data encrypted on Swiss severs, etc)?

I know that they use gmail, which is absolutely horryfing from a data security perspective!

They just check to see you're ok & in no distress. On the occasion you seem mentally unstable (confused or danger to self) they may take you to a psych unit for a psych assessment.
Bottom line is they ask if you're ok & if you say "yes I'm fine" then they leave. They have no right to search (in the US) or harass you in any way.

I don't mean to sound like a smartass, but what is really the concern with this? I placed an order about 2-3 weeks ago and received it yesterday. It was left in my mailbox with the rest of my mail. Even if they keep your info, aren't we buying this for a reason and it won't be an issue if they have your info after that? This is from a US perspective.

No offense, but that's an absurdly naive view in light of actual incidents, e.g.

That said, death by cop, via supposed "welfare" check is kind of a last resort option for me to CTB. Cops in the US are so trigger happy, and being a veteran, if I act a little crazy and combative while holding something gun-shaped in my hand, I'm confident they'll be at least one of them who'll very happily shoot me to death.
