Hey y'all, I've been fairly busy and haven't been able to keep up with the news of the DMC crackdown. Last I saw there were the 2 reports of welfare checks in the UK. Has there been anything I've missed? Anything happening in the US?

Feel free to discuss the topic in a general sense here, as well.

Folks, it's a legal substance. Simply gently tell them to buzz off should they fail to show a search warrant.

That's what I'll do if they'll question my N2 purchase in the future. I'll tell them it's for brewing coffee (nitro coffee) or brewing beer.

Rainandsadness suggests telling them you disposed of it. Reassure them that you changed your mind and are NOT having any thoughts of harming yourself or anyone else. There is nothing they can do at that point as far as I know. I would stay calm, respectful, friendly and confident. I think it's a better route then trying to tell them some legit reason for you purchasing it.

This is exactly my mentality as well.

I don't know how the laws work in everyone's country/state, but generally speaking, you DO NOT have to speak to the police or answer any questions.

If I were to get one of these wellness checks, I'd simply tell them that I won't be answering any questions unless I have a lawyer present. I live in Canada. I'm not a lawyer, but I highly doubt that the police can detain you under the mental health act for simply buying a possessing SN or even a rope. If they have evidence of threatening comments or behaviour on the other hand, that's a different story.

Dépends on the country. If you're an adult, not much. They will log it that you weren't home.

My thoughts exactly. My deliveries will be policed now, but it'll be much easier to organise a delivery of rope over a poison from wartorn Ukraine

I live in one of the Nordic countries. If the cops, or any other authorities, come asking if I am well based on me buying a substance that is legal, I am fully in my right to tell them to leave. I guess the same applies to most countries.

So, SN is a legal substance and therefore it is not a crime to possess SN. However, in most countries (the whole EU and most of the world) its sale is prohibited to individuals and is only allowed for companies with a special permit. Paradoxically, you can legally possess SN but you cannot legally buy it.

In the UK, if you refuse a welfare check and the police have strong beliefs or reason to believe you've got a substance that you can ctb with they won't just leave. They have a duty of care.

You won't be in trouble but they will remove the substance from your house and you'll be referred on to some sort of mental health team.
