Does your family have some dark secrets which are not much talked about?
When I was about 15 or 16 my depression periods started and after one unpleasant incident my parents realized something is wrong with me. They were really scared and worried about me, mainly because of the dark secret of our family.
My gradpa had a brother who suffered with bipolar disorder. He had three sons and was married. One night he was at the pub with friends and they told him that his wife cheated on him and his sons aren't in fact his own. He became mad, went home and started to massacre his sons with an axe. Two died, one escaped. He was diagnosed with BD and didn't go to jail but to some institute. His wife and youngest son still visited him – maybe his wife felt guilty because the rumors were true, maybe because they weren't and she really loved him.
Anyway I've never been told about a fact that my gradpa had a brother which is pretty odd in our family. We live in a small village and I know every member of our family to the third knee. My mum told me the story only because she and my dad thought I suffer with BD too and if nothing wrong happened to me they would probably never told me.
