Well, "World Suicide Prevention" day is in a coming up. Do you think it would be worth doing it then just for the sake of irony or spite? I don't know, it's not that I have anything against preventing suicide by helping those who want help. However, I think it would just be kinda funny to do this: does that make me a bad person?

That date was my initial hope, but I have family stuff that is going to extend it through the end of the month.

There's actually a day dedicated to that?! This obsession with denying people the most basic right makes me all the more suicidal and sure of my decision. I only wish I was able to do it sooner:(

It doesn't make you a bad person, it makes perfect sense and I've been thinking of doing the same thing. I think I would leave a note saying that it's not more "prevention" we need it's a better way of viewing suicide and that we need to stop criminalizing it and treating those who are suffering so shitty. Overall I don't blame you at all, and I think it would be a perfect bit of spite and irony.

While I don't want to encourage or tell anyone what to do, I could see the irony and spite within the action itself. Personally, I would not do it just for the sake of spiting and making a statement, but only if I was suffering immensely, but I could some people wanting to take a stance against the system and current attitude towards suicidal people. If in the rare chance that one is CTB'ing and just so happens to be on that date, then yes I could see it also making a statement and a stance against suicide prevention.

It wouldn't change anything. I understand the notion, but I have resolved not to be spiteful or leave anymore pain then I have to when it's time. Just because the world is a giant asshole who is mean and jerky doesn't mean we have to be. I mean I guess one can if they want to...I just don't really want to. What I want is for the pain to go and for people to be good to each other...the fact neither happens makes me angry for sure...but then its just back around to joining them if you can't beat them. I refuse to join them. Maybe that's my spite in another form? I don't know.

I'm not saying to do it purely out of spite, but if you were going to anyway, you might as well.

People make suicide prevention their business when its too late (most people I've known anyway).
Back to your question, this sounds like something I would do. There's a person who ruined my life entirely and I wanted to do it on his birthday. 19/10
It's ok to feel angry, that's what I tell myself. To be honest I wanted to do t on his birthday so he would remember and know he pushed me to this, but I eventually just passed that date and will go when I am ready. I feel it's more important to be 100% ready or that makes sense ? After all, it's a choice you're making for yourself, dates and other details might cause more stress for people however , I feel most of us here need to care a little less about how others will think of us. Many of us have been through hell already
