I'm neither drunk nor high but I gotta tell you that maybe about 5 times this year, I've been having kinda lucid dreams; I realize I'm dreaming.

And every time I notice I'm in a dream, instead of creating any reality I want, I just CTB, generally by drowning (which is really weird because I'm extremely scared of that method) and I can't explain what the feeling of dying feels like. I just stop breathing and then I wake up. Also, I've shot myself more than once and as soon as the bullet hit me, I also woke up.

I guess I'm suicidal even in the dream world. Ridiculous! lol

Just needed to get this off my chest!

Lol i've practices lucid dreams for a while, but mostly in search for something. Once I was looking for a owner for ten kittens of colors from purple to hairless. And they constantly wanted to escape from my hands.

shot myself more than once and as soon as the bullet hit me,
You mean that you need more than one shot or it was different dreams?

One shot was enough to kill me! I've had 2 different dreams and both times I shot in my head!
I guess I feel more confident because I know I'm dreaming.

I would probably chicken out in real life haha

Ah, ok! Just imagined that everything works differently in dreams, so wouldn't be surprised that self-shot would end up with shot-self or something.

I used to lucid dream all the time and I got so good at it I could really enjoy it.

I am somewhat of an expert on the subject. I always love to ask the characters in the dreams stuff.

One way I trigger my full awareness in a lucid dream is to ask some person what year it is or something simple. They always say something in response that's ridiculous. I also enjoy looking in mirrors. It's never you and some of the shit you see is just amazing in those reflections x
Had my first lucid dreams In my early teens and even now I ask people If they have had any or experienced them and most never have. It's a nice gift I think ☺️
I have done some amazing stuff in my time with the joys of controlled lucid dreams.

When It started and I was a kid I used to just do mischief like throw bricks at windows because I knew it was just a dream and I could lol.

Later on in life things became much more adventurous. And way more sinister haha x

Damn I only had like a Lucid Dream or two in my entire life. When I did though, I remember I could like fly and walk through walls. It was amazing.

But damn CTB, even in dream world. Only if that happened in real life...

In a lucid dream I do not think it would be possible to even consider killing yourself. Your brain is fully in charge and it does not want to stop working.

I have had hundreds of them and all you want to do is just have fun and enjoy the experience.

I have been mortally wounded in a lot of nightmares. (all non lucid) but I always get up and walk it off I've been shot lots and been stabbed by Freddy Krueger.

There is a bullshit myth from when I was younger if you die in your dream you really die.

Death cannot happen in your dream because your brain does not know or is incapable of recreating death as it's unknown to it x

It was certainly weird!
Also, in normal dreams, I've been killed by a thief or something like that more than once and it's amazing because at the moment you "die", you simply wake up immediately. It's as if your brain was really programmed not to die lol

Now the most interesting part is real life! When you really die....now that's a story for another time.

I have got back up alive still many times remaining in the dream. One bad one I was stalked and stabbed to death by my own father. Wasn't lucid but it was very realistic. Got back up when he went away. Can't die in a dream

I love being asleep so much.. so much better than life. And the other night I dreamed I died and I just remember total bliss and relief in the dream. Someone shot me in the head and I was sort of aware after death like a ghost, Bruce Willis/ Sixth Sense style. I just remember complete contentment knowing I no longer needed to worry about life any more..... If only...

In a way "drowning" kinda makes sense. A lot of near-deaths describe it as drowning or going through water or a "film" or a cloud/fog. It could be a sort of premonition of things to come when you yourself do finally pass wether ctb or not.

Also waking up before you die moght be a way of keeping that "knowledge" away from us. Like a natural "buffer" to make us stay alive. I wouldn't doubt that if someone from this group could send posts from the after life they would say "Hey its great here just die and hurry up!". Meanwhile we have a fear of the unknown that sadly and unfairly keeps us here. Like SI. Survive for what!? So i can get leukemia tomorrow and see another televised world war? Wtf?

I've had a number of lucid dreams and prophetic dreams. In January, I dreamt that I was in New Orleans, desperately trying to catch a bus. I kept missing them, as they'd close the door and drive away before I could reach one. Finally, on the third try, I was able to enter an empty bus and depart for who knows where. I woke up and immediately realized the metaphorical meaning of the dream and then spent more than a month terrified that something was going to happen that would lead me to take the step of ending life. There are only two events right now that would cause this: losing my business and/or having my animals taken away from me. I have had more dreams than I can count that have happened in waking life, so I lived in crushing fear all of January, February. Looking out the window, waiting to see the police drive up to tell me there's been a complaint about my animals (I have a small street cat/dog refuge), or opening up my website to see my business has vanished. It all began to soften and diminish in March. However, I understand the dream might be referring to any point this year. I do have the feeling it's not about the far future, but perhaps it is referring to my inevitable demise, whenever it happens. Or maybe it really was just a dream. I had not been spending time on this site or in a bad way, especially, before the dream. I was just living life and had the dream. BTW, I have not attempted suicide, so that part about the third try being successful doesn't have any relevance yet. I'm still worried about it due to my experiences. I make a living as an intuitive, so I pay attention to details. And just to finish, my mind has an adolescent, ironic sense of humor.

My lucid dreams have always felt rather empowering since I realize I can alter events to my liking. The CTB dream was not lucid, if it was a CTB dream and not just some ridiculous story about wanting to ride a bus in New Orleans. I was at a bus station, not some cool NOLA location.

Of course, you cannot my friend as the brain does not know how to die as it has never done it. So you will either wake up or continue in the dream.

That's intense. I suffer horribly with sleep terrors and sleep paralysis, damn near every night. I fear sleep at this point in my life. My dreams are very lucid but as far as I can remember, I've never actually died in any. I've accepted death in many, but never CTB.

Always happens

How do I lucid dream?
Some people say it can be done with simple meditation techniques. Some people also say it's easier to do if you keep a "sober" life, no nicotine or booze or pills or caffeine, and try to eat healthy or not eat before sleeping. It's supposed to be like an OBE out of body experience or a controlled dream/meditative state. Certain techniques work for certain people though. If weed or booze or drugs helps (nostradomus) then that's a certain person's way. Sometimes it takes "practice" but it depends on what methods you find on the net to try. I have had very lucid premonition dreams when I was living sober, no nicotine or booze, but I hate this place so I smoke and drink and try to enjoy my days the best I can. When I was in service I had premonition dreams 2 times or more a week. It got me out of a few jams but it got me into trouble on other days. This could have been because of "pressure" and fear causing an over active "psyche" but IDK.

I had my first and only lucid dream a couple months ago coming off a week-long bender, literally saying to myself in it, 'I'm having a lucid dream right now.' It was pretty awesome, no fear, and the next morning just a sense of wonder at what more could be possible outside of day-to-day reality.

I have a great time in mine i was at a grand sort of dinner party massively extravagant in my most recent one and I just walked around casually in my James bond style suit asking the characters basic questions and they were replying so incorrectly and randomly. I was laughing a lot, well In my mind I was but me in the dream was just straight-faced and serious while making all the artificial intelligence look stupid. Sometimes I see people I know or have known but mostly it is just randomly generated humans x

How do I lucid dream?
I've been writing down the dreams I remember for some time as soon as I woke up and also said to myself before falling asleep "Tonight, I will dream".

Some months went by and then I managed to do it but still don't have 100% and I just wanna go back to this world. That's why I ctb. I guess I'm scared of being there for some reason lol

I have had some rare bad ones where I am genuinely terrified and in fear of my life in extremely dangerous scenarios but after time and experience I found a way to wake up by nipping my arms aggressively in the dream.

It is very weird the fact that they are lucid..... Anyway the message of your subconscious is clear, probably you are repressing that idea too hard in your real life....
There was two times in my childhood that I was about to die drowned bt

I've noticed lately that my dreams (when lucid) usually ends with a suicide attempt. I let the demons and monsters I usually run from attack me. Another method has been jumping head first from tall buildings.
Once I'm lucid I'll usually plead with anyone near me to tell me how to contact my fiance that died, and then after being unable to seak more answers I'll scramble to kill myself as fast as I can.
I'll usually wake up because I was lucid at this point and for the dream to continue won't make sense.
Does anyone keep on dreaming after you die in them?
