When my mind enters scenarios, sometimes a shortcut ending to those scenarios is CTB (not that I'll CTB soon... just that CTB is seen as a 'solution' tho upon deeper thinking, it doesn't solving the scenario as CTB hasn't occured despite many small annoyances over the years).
Sometimes, I change the thought or the thought fades; other times, the next 'solution' shortcut includes things that disable the scenario:
Eg: if the scenario is handling an annoying class/task/etc that's coming up, and I tell myself 'exclude CTB as a solution', the options of becoming a missing person, getting various diseases that result in avoiding the annoyance (in exchange for the consequences of whatever disease), or being swiped down by a vehicle pop up, and are sometimes debunked.
When excluding direct options, indirect options like taking less-than-legal substances pop up.. but at least that idea gets wiped fast (I believe addiction would be worse)
Then the annoying thing comes, and passes, and I sometimes think "This isn't as bad as feared".
Note that these scenario-handling daydreams are short, but semi regular. There's also avoidance, sometimes handling it well, etc.
