CTB by gun, good idea?

I'd say Gun > SN, be sure to use 9mm up, anything lower than that is a no go.

Guns seem to be quite an underrated method on this place. Best way to go by far, much faster and reliable than chemicals.

I have a 12 gauge shotgun. I would never use it, simply because at the moment you're about to pull the trigger, you could get scared and leave yourself disfigured or even worse; a vegetable. If you do die, it could take minutes or HOURS of gurgling on your blood until it all leaks out until your demise. It also brings trauma to me to think about that fate, because I had a family member take that path to escape. Too gruesome.

I think I'd still take it, seems like the fastest way if you do it right. I dont think you will have any pain if you do it the right way

There are plenty of gun death videos online including suicides. Have a look at a few and it seems like as fast as it is, death often occurring in a time frame between nearly instant and a few seconds, whether it's painless is debatable. Is painless an absolute non negotiable criteria for you? Or are you willing to take a few seconds of pain for the benefit of it being over pretty fast?

not for clumsy people, like me.Often it happen so quicly, it could be possible that you dont feel the pain, or extremly briefly.(maybe last moments/sec in a distorded conscience , it could be fast, but a hell in the brain, or maybe our consciouness doesnt even have time to realize it)It seems (some)violent deaths are .. not always as painful as we fear.But it awakes strongly our survival instinct

Maybe when I'll be 100 % fixed to ctb I will forget about the messy aftermath I just pull the trigger once and for all.

I've considered using a gun, but it's not a very intuitive method for me. Mostly I don't want to upset the people who find the body and people who I'm leaving behind. It is a pretty upsetting mess for people to have to deal with, and I dunno, I think that it's easier to process death with an open casket. Not that other people are the main consideration, but if there's a way that I can make it less distressing for everyone else, I'd rather do so.

I realized recently I could buy a gun as long as I got a gun licence (I live in Canada). I went to an outdoors/camping/hunting store to get stuff for camping. I realized they also sell guns there. It may have been the first time I've seen guns for sale in Canada. I didn't realize I could get one so easily, and I didn't realize I could totally afford one. Guns scare me though because if it does not work the results could be beyond devastating. I saw a documentary once on two people who received face transplants, both had blown off their faces in attempting suicide with a gun. I am a woman so I think that plays into it, the idea of using a gun feels really violent. I have a friend who tried to commit suicide with a gun, he said he pulled the trigger and he felt the gun go off, but nothing happened. I don't know if something supernatural happened to him or what, but then his friends got to him and took the gun away.

One shot in the middle on the skull will kill you at the touch but this method is dangerous because pull the trigger is hard drink some chemical does not trigger your basic instics as pulling the trigger of a gun i have shot guns before and the sensation is weird i dont want to imagine if the gun was looking at me and i had to pull it

I agree, it might leave someone in a state of PTSD. Its better to take your gun and go to a place where nobody will find you.

It probably would be a good idea, but I don't like the idea of shooting myself in the head for some reason. I'd rather shoot myself straight through the heart or something, it might be more difficult to do and a lot could go wrong but the thought of shooting myself in the head has never appealed to me

I finally have a gun. I went with the RIP bullets. Guns are easy to get here but require a 10-day waiting period. They think the urge to use it on self with dissipate by that point. The urge doesn't dissipate but the courage does. And it sucks bc I'm ready to go now and looking for courage online. I also live alone but the idea of doing it in my apt bothers me. I considered suggestions of Malibu or a forest but I picture myself cold and unfocused. My brain is now my barrier. I have the perfect escape without the guts.
