about sums it up, huh. to be fair, i was actually hardly here the last couple weeks of last month. so you'd've (is that punctuation correct? ugh) had to be seeing older crap of mine floating around.

hehe~ that's fair, yeah! Welcome back! :) In regards to spelling, you can't abbreviate with apostrophes twice like that in English~ You can say "You would've had" or "You'd have had" or "You would have had" tho~ :) The first is the most natural, and the last is the most formal~ :)

oh, yeah i'm a native english speaker lol - i was thinking more in the meta-sense that when we say it, it basically comes out as a doubly-apostrophized(? apostrophied?!) word.
around here, no one pronounces it "you'd have had to"...they say "you'd've had to". and at present there's no way to accurately reflect that in writing following convention and "rules" (as if english really has any)
