I realize this is a first world problem and maybe it's a 1 percent first world problem. I consider the excesses of the world to be the problem of all of our society.
I stopped at Costco on the way home from work today to get gas. I assumed coming by there at 2 pm would be fine. I was wrong. It is the very worst definition of a type A personality hellhole furious at slowness or any weakness and kindness is a weakness. The lines are filled with people jumping ahead and parking in angles in front of gas pumps, screaming at each other and honking.
I feel it's a symptom of part of why I feel that nothing matters. I sort of feel like the "bullies" and "aggressives" were in a box a decade ago and they realized that their way of life was on the way out. They were reaching a point that they didn't matter. The world of being an asshome and fighting for yourself first and strongest survive and alpha asshole and ignore courtesy was frowned on.
And they came back with a horrifying vengeance. Protections, safety, health, kindness were stamped out and if you dare call someone out for poor behavior it's a flipoff at the best and a gunshot with "I felt threatened" tacked on the justification at the worst.
This has become my biggest reason for suicidal ideation.
