CO poisoning is rather a general principle than a method. There are entirely different implementations of CTB via CO, depending on how CO is obtained and how it's inhaled. For example, you can produce CO via a chemical reaction between sodium formate and concentrated sulfuric acid, collect the gas in a plastic bag and then inhale it from there. Or you can make CO via incomplete combustion of charcoal inside a small room and try to poison yourself by entering the room. Obviously, these two methods are very different from each other despite the common CO poisoning part.
