As I will be doing this method possibly this Saturday morning, I had an idea that would work better than letting the coals simmer in say a tent - & would like feedback. I haven't tested using a co meter as the 1 I have only goes to 1K ppm, but even then u only need 400 at best to really exit.

Having said that cuz I like to err text, I only want to burn coal once, I have 2 & 1/2 bg of coal and can't really go back to get more, so I'm going w/ a single shot.

I propose doing this in 1 of them **roller garbage bins** like the city issues everyone. I mean as long as u can close that lid... It's completely insulated & would retain the co. Immensely. It'd be better than taping up a tent to all hell.

Sucker is sooo friggin rooommy!!! & I'm 5' 8. Lay it on the side, flap would probably be best going upward, but I guess down would work too if u can't close it right & tight.

Well yeah, I fit and as long as u have a metal container for the coals to sit in so as not to melt that durable plastic, I don't see why it couldn't work.

What's so confusing?

I didn't understand whether you were using the bin as a receptacle for the coals and sort of gathering/storing the CO in there, ready to open the lid and release it into somewhere else. Is there a chance the heat would warp or melt the plastic?

That's why I suggested a "metal container" just like you'd use in a tent but same theory applies here.

You'd still burn the coal outside. But once it's simmering, bring it in the bin with you. Close lid.. sleep away.

plastic usually melts at 100> celsium lol. the lid of thrashbin of my household bent badly while it stood on 40c for whole jule when it was average daily temperature. regarding to this method CO is slighty lighter than air so considerable amount of the gas can leak after you open a lid for example i burnt thrash in a metal drum and combustion still supported itself just after i added new batches of thrash in after previous ones burnt completely, but supposedly it shouldnt burn bc CO2 which is heavier than air should fill the bottom and render new batches of thrash incombustible as this gas is incombustible itself also i had watered this drum by a water hose after thrash batches burnt completely, water instantly boiled and turned in vapor as it contacted the drum's surface. next metallic components still convey the heat and heat conveyance ithrough its surfaces is enough to melt plastic easily and can put a thrashbin in fires. beyond the conveyance there's the heat radiation, it's an invisibe(by an human eye) warm field around hot objects, you had probably noticed it around a boiled kettle, for charcoals heat radiation is considerable enough to cause burns if you aproach too closely.

as i understood your method is to generate CO inside a container and to immerse yourself in so this is explained in AVMA animal euthanasia guideline. they used CO2 though, which is much easier to handle and to generate(CO is explosive in 10%> volume concentration) and it should cause narcosis and death due to hypoxia in 30% concentrations with air
