They are wrong.

Jesus died to forgive our sins. All of them. Including any you might commit by taking your life. He does not decide to forgive some and not to forgive others.

If you believe that Jesus died for you, all of your sins will be forgiven. End of story.

Your Christian friends mean well, but their faith is misguided.
