Chloroform

Hey everyone!
I've been doing more research on methods and used the recourses thread as instructed. I'm BIG on pain and time. I'm leaning towards SN but I came across a substance called "chloroform" that is supposed to knock you out in less than 5 minutes and then kill you afterwards with the right dosage.

Does anybody have any knowledge on chloroform that could be helpful to me? What I know so far is that inhaling chloroform can kill you, and it is easy to get. However I need to know if there are any complications as a result of a failed attempt?
I know a failed attempt shouldn't even be on my mind if I'm 100% sure I want to ctb, but I just need to be sure of the ramifications. I've been hospitalized before, I've learned how to get myself out those situations. However, putting myself in a place where I won't have another chance to try and control my destiny will be too detrimental.

depending on how you use it determines what damage is done and if it's recoverable from. Tbh, I'd read the entire chloroform page rather than just those excerpts, it looks to be a nasty way to go if you don't get it right.

I'm gonna be honest... if you're big on pain your survival instinct is probably high. It sounds good in theory, but the chances of you going through with death by chloroform are likely low. I just think itll be hard to willingly breathe chloroform for 5 minutes plus.

Wow, thanks for the insight. I don't know why I had the idea that I would just slowly drift into unconsciousness while inhaling.

This was once my plan, it is easy to make at home for less that $10, and all you need for a good suicide is something like an exit bag, but a box.

A candle or scented wax heater would evaporate the Chloroform, pretty rapidly raising the PPM inside the box. Its heavier than air, and smells and tastes sweet so it is easy to inhale. One could pass out in a couple minutes and be gone pretty quick after.

My main thought was to use it as a pain reducer. You can kind of get drunk off of it if you dont go too far, and stay awake but be almost entirely numb. Then any method wouldn't be as scary or painful. But from small scale tests, i get way too lethargic to do anything long before the pain stops. I guess thats why you hear old stories of people going through surgery in old wars fully awake, but unable to move.

So in the movies they always make it look like chloroform instantly knocks people out and stuff, but from what I know, it's not that easy in real life. I've read it actually takes at least 5 minutes of inhaling it, and it also loses effectiveness when exposed to air. I don't really think it sounds worth bothering with.

Yeah I asked about chloroform in the past. My idea was combo chloroform with a trash bag. Chloroform would have me out in 5. Trash bag would take out the air at 30. If something went wrong with the trash bag the chloroform would destroy my liver. But I never got answers.

I made it to play with extracting alkaloids from Tree bark. Its pretty fun stuff. Just dont want to have a lot of it spill without ventilation. Even small amounts inhaled can cause issues.

It evaporates at room temperature pretty quickly, but if you where to use a wax heater in a box around your head, you could make it work pretty well.

I tried it but is more probably you puke before you die, is so sweet that is disgusting to huff a lot. And I think that you need to keep inhaling after passed out, so is like impossible to do it alone. And you will suffer if you don't die, in the next days. Phosgene is disgusting.
