So in researching chemical mixtures, I came across Clorox bleach and rubbing alcohol produces chloroform when mixed. Does anyone know if this is actually true?

the key ingredient in household bleach is sodium hypochlorite. sodium hypochlorite reacts with ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, and other types of alcohol to make chloroform (CHCl3), hydrochloric acid (HCl), and other compounds, such as dichloroacetate or chloroacetone

Yes although it's more effective with acetone. You can't just mix them together and hope for the best though, the reaction generates a lot of heat and needs an ice bath to keep it cool. Then once the reaction is complete you have to separate the chloroform from the aqueous (water) phase. There are lots of guides online if you search, including videos like this one from Nile Red:

Damn that's a lot of work, and I don't have access to a chemistry set for all the distillation and separation.

And what's the idea of using chloroform?

Breathing it causes unconsciousness. Continuing to breathe it causes death.
I didn't know well, but how will you continue to breathe it after you lose consciousness?

Chloroform is no where near like the movies.

I tried this once with pure Chloroform and I honestly felt more ill on the days after than ever in my life.

Hello! I've been lurking here a while and finally made an account to add my two cents.
Earlier this year, I tried to CTB using chloroform. I got a nebulizer mask and sealed the hose hole with tape to make it air tight. Then I stuffed a chloroform-soaked rag into the mask and duck taped it to my face (they make mask straps but I didn't buy one). The idea was to inhale chloroform and/or suffocate as the mask was air-tight at this point. I got so far as passing out. I don't know for how long but I woke up in the process of puking on the floor. I had managed to rip off the mask before my consciousness fully kicked back in, I think because I started puking.
I'm sure there are a few things I could have done differently to make it work as this was a first attempt, not entirely well planned, and I did manage to make myself pass out. Alas, there probably won't be another attempt with chloroform as now the smell of it instantly nauseates me.
I also tried to drink it as it is like, 10x more lethal ingested. However, it is VERY basic (pH of 14) and even a little sip burned. It would probably dissolve your mouth and throat on the way down. Big bummer as it's kind of sweet and actually tasted good.

I've read this paper as well. two failed attempts. with chloroform.. I don't have access to any strong sedatives like Halcion, so my only option was to go get Chloroform from some lab. I used covid masks to pour to chloroform on however, in both attempts, I was immediately knocked out,[poured a lot of chloroform onto the mask ]woke up distraught, covered in vomit, trying to fight my for my life as if I'm dreaming and then realising what's going on. I was covered in vomit in first attempt even though I was on my back I did not choke on my own vomit. The second time, I fell out of bed on the wrong side, off to a close space between the wall and the bed, fight to get out of there and the bag was off again full of vomit. Don't remember most of what's happened during both of those times, now I have burns and bruises on my face and arm that I am trying to make sense of.

This is what happened in my attempt. My rag had also dried out which is possibly why I woke up. I think you need a system to keep a steady, hefty amount of chloroform feeding the mask/rag/whatever in order to get your nervous system depressed enough for you to stop breathing if you're trying to ctb with chloroform alone.

I said this before but I want to reinforce that the chloroform is very very very basic and I've read reports of people who have died with burns around their mouth where they held a rag. Be careful handling chemicals!

At first, I tried only chloroform to see if I am able to get knocked out and timing of it. but i woke up trying to get vomit out of my mouth. also i was unconscious within 10 seconds I guess. Then I put the mask infused with chloroform on then immediately put the plastic bag and sealed it with duck tape, then I don't remember what happened after that until after one and a half hour later I woke up fighting the get back up from the tiny space between my bed and and wall, assuming I am dreaming similar scenario but different and then I came to physical realisation that I fell out off the bed and somehow got rid of the bag over my head and crawled back up.

As for the burns and bruises, I am assuming those are the result of falling towards the wall and scraping my face and arm and in fighting for survival kicking the radiator to get back up[in my dream it was quite and action scene], and unfortunately burns must have come from the floor as I drop my face in it, cos I poured the chloroform onto the mask at that side of the bed and so consequently poured some on the floor as well. But this is my version of probable cause of events, dunno what happened exactly, I can't remember

Did everyone abandon chloroform as a method in the end? I need to know how I can pull this off successfully, don't have access to anything else and can't subject myself to pain or suffering.

I once attempted this with chloroform AR, a surgical face mask and a plastic bag. It was a horrific experience, and I never passed out, I was fully conscious the entire time, I couldn't breathe and I inhaled a lot of that chloroform stuff, I felt sick the next day. I don't know how people pass out from inhaling this stuff.

I'm definitely not attempting this again. To think I could have just bought SN instead for a fraction of what I spent on chloroform, it's just like rubbing salt into a wound (pun intended).

I plan to do something similar for my full suspension some day. Knock myself out while in my noose so i literally fall off the chair and hang.
