I'm supervised very closely and basically it became known that I ordered SN. It will be taken from me but I'm hoping to get to the package when it arrives and take what I need (it's a 500g container) and keep it in a ziplock bag or similar hidden away. Will it keep? I still want to have some SN available to me. Especially because it was really expensive and I'm pretty sure SN regulations are going to tighten up soon

If the bag is really airtight, it should be ok. Under the influence of oxygen, nitrite converts to nitrate.
This is because members keep posting details about sources, such as photos, websites, addresses, names of sources, countries where SN is available and acronyms of the dealers' names. The authorities are very grateful about such details.

Usually though, regulations change when one case gets very overblown and popularized through the media. For example, if a celebrity caught the bus using SN, SN would become off-limits to most people in the next week.

Just one example: I knew 2 SN sources in the UK. I shared these sources several times with older members (I don´t share sources with new members).
Someone reported both sources to the UK authorities, with the result that both sell only to companies. Now there is no UK source anymore,
that sells to private individuals. I have decided to generally not share sources anymore.

Ziplock bags aren't actually airtight though, are they? I've got 3 separate small packs of SN vacuum packaged, and I'm thinking what would be the best way to store it once I open a pack for testing. Even if I were to buy a supposed airtight container, there'd still be air in the container since I can't exactly create a vacuum environment in the container after putting the SN in. I'm assuming that sort of exposure to air shouldn't be a problem, but I don't know much about SN. I'd imagine during manufacture it's not kept in an airless environment the entire time either, so maybe I'm overthinking things.Similar threads
