it makes me sleepy yeah (not everytime), and I fall asleep faster, but it doesn't prevent me from waking up during the night, or I keep feeling tired as soon as I wake up

oh that's a shitty combo. you figure it'd give you both or neither adverse outcome (sleep all night AND be sleepy next day, or not and not)

what about melatonin or whatever, it seems to work for some but not others, like everything. and good ol' "sleep hygiene"

yeah i'm unlucky in this area, I've been insomniac since I'm like 6 years old (because of anxiety which kept me up at night), and I think it has fucked it up forever;
I think the last time I've slept and felt refreshed was like 10 years ago when I was in psych ward

I've never tried melatonin, maybe I should

they say "start low go slow", 2-3mg is apparently good at first iirc even though they sell pills of like 10mg+
