This remembers me of my suicide attempt with carbone monoxide. I lay in the car, the driver's seat folded all the way back, an oxygen mask on my face. It was night and the car was parked in the forest. It was so peaceful, it could have been the perfect ending. Two hours later I woke up and the pain started again. His ending is better than mine.

Damned was also my first thought after I woke up. In the PPH they used 150ml of formic acid and 250ml of sulphuric acid to reach a deadly concentration of carbone monoxide. I used 1 litre of formic acid and 2 litre of sulphuric acid. I dont know what i could have done so wrong that i survived it. I was unconscious after 10 seconds, so it must have come in any case carbon monoxide from the gas mask. I wrote about my experience in the Carbone Monoxide Megathread. Im realy a unlucky fellow.

No, when i woked up after 2 hours i was alone. I was just as incredulous as you, that this could happen. Its a nightmare, since than i try to find my strength again to end this. But it could have been a lot worse for me, fortunately im not brain damaged.
Yes, but i prefered the acids because they should generate very fast very much carbone monoxide. My guess was wrong. Its not that easy like i thought.

You changed the ratio of the reactants and probably threw off the reaction tbh. You should of done 2:3 not a 1:2.

The sulphuric acid in the reaction is just there to split the formic acid in water and carbone monoxide. The more sulfuric acid the better.
