Brain stem. You'll be eliminating the automatic bodily functions (heartbeat, lungs, etc). Preferably at a 45 degree angle.

The temporal area just above the ear or (if you can point the barrel in the direction of the brain stem) the mouth. The temporal area is where I'm going for. Anything .22 caliber and up will do. The mouth is preferrable if you have a rifle or shotgun. Handgun? Temporal just above the ear. You'll be dead before you know it, so it will be relatively painless. You may feel a split second of agonizing pain. However, that's the case even in so-called "painless" methods. The body is dying. And nothing is "100%." However, 95% is good enough for me.
