Usually it is those of the Judeo/Christian faith who install the fear of God into people.

The only right handed path religion that believes in a hell are those who practice those particular religions.

Most people who partake in religions do not believe in hell. More worship a Goddess or multiple Gods by the way.

All religions are made up by humans as a set of rules and regulations to prevent free thinking.

If someone holds hell over your head, ask what their religion is. I will bet you anything, they are Christian. ;)

Muslims do not believe in hell. They believe in Jahannam. Judiasm is Judeo/Christian. However Jews generally do no push their beliefs on others. ;)

Jahannam is exactly the same concept as hell. A place of punishment for evildoers.

Correct. However the term Hell is specifically Judeo/Christian. Those who say you will go to Hell are generally Christian.

The topic wasn't don't kill yourself. You have to worry about Jahannam. ;)

You're talking semantics here. Whilst I agree that the term 'Hell' is generally used by Christians, tbh, it doesn't matter if it's called Hell or Jahannam. It's one and the same. Where do you think Muhammad got the idea from? The Jews and the Christians! Luckily for me, being the Atheist I am, I don't believe in any afterlife! :0)

Where did Muhammad get the idea from? Zoroastrian. But as I said. All religions are man made as a set of rules and regulations made up by man to prevent free thinking... and the majority of people on this forum are not experts on right and left hand religions. ;)

I'm certainly no expert, but I am well read on the 'big three'. I've read up on the other religions to a lesser extent. Zoroastrians? Maybe, but I don't think so. He lived in the Middle East, he wasn't in Persia which is where Zoroastrians mainly were. He was surrounded by the Christians and the Jews.

Yes. Many consider Zoroanstrians to be the first known right-handed path religion. Thus, all religions are based on that particular religion. Most have similarities, as it was the first with tweaks made by humans to better suit their needs. But this is a suicide forum. Not a religious one.

All religions are man made as a set of rules and regulations to prevent free thinking. Consequently, I think the individual asking the question is part of the Judeo/Christian faith, and this is all inconsequential and off topic. ;)

Lol, I know! Interesting to talk about, but you're right. We are going off topic! Thanks for the chat. Take care.

Tell em, put me anywhere but not with you!

If god put you in hell, I'll provide you with legal assistance. Don't worry.

George Carlin had a good bit, back in the 90's in regards to religion. Should give it a watch, he goes into decent detail on how screwed up it is that some guy on a cloud, that's all knowing and all loving, has no issues in making those he loves suffer. Oh and he/she needs money, for some funny reason. Creator of all, but money was apparently a tough nut to crack.

"When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: religion. No contest. Religion is easily the greatest bullshit story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky, who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke, burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer, burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever until the end of time!

But he loves you! And he needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing and all-wise, but somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes and they always need a little more. Now you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy shit! There is no god. None, not one, no god, never was."

I always laugh when people say this, because honestly, living is hell. Dying is easy and peaceful.
My family has told me if I die unnaturally I'll be stuck in limbo and won't be at peace. Do I believe it? Not one bit.

Eh, I don't believe in the after life. No one knows anyway, so it's safe to assume that there can be no consciousness once the brain has died.
