does anyone else feel horrible for many days and then completely forget about it?
and then when it gets worse again you need some sort of reference, like a diary or a photo you took when you were low to remember you felt like this before?
is there a name for this?

Yeah I told my boyfriend that's why I can feel happy in the relationship even though he even feels like he is hurting me too much.

I can forget and move on and a lot of the times I don't want to remember the bad stuff. My therapist and I were talking about that last session, it's obvious avoidance but a lot of people here probably know how much better avoidance feels.

I'm writing a journal becouse of it, and really recommend it! It can be anything, I'm making a journal/scrap journal and it makes it feel more unique and nice to pick up. Like, you can see a bad times and good times just by looking on closed notebook - to make a scrap journal you need to go out or just do something, so the pages stands out from the "just writing" ones.

wow you have a scrapbook? you're cool!

i've always wanted to do one but i feel like nothing goes on enough in my life to warrant sticking stuff in a book. recently a friend got me a notebook that i really really like though and I've wanted to get started. If you feel like sharing, what got you started or keeps you going doing it?

as for the original post i think that difficulty remembering your own emotions plus memory stuff is in general one of the major symptoms of depression. I personally have dealt with it and can tell after sinking back into my problems, your brain genuinely does slow down. but as you build interest for things again, which i have to admit can be hard, your mind starts to pick up again. you may even feel sharp! but idk that's my personal experience.

well i started it one day after I had a really vivid -bad- dream. i rushed to write it down and then drew something over it. I realized it helped me, so everytime i feel bad i try to put either words or images to what im feeling and then portray it.
there are really no rules to scrapbooks, just letting yourself be on the page, so add whatever it feels like you need to add.
the first page is the hardest, but don't give it much thought! just let your thoughts spill onto the page. hope this helps!!
