Do all suicide deaths require an autopsy? if so can a family member refuse autopsy of my body?

The law varies from place to place, but in the US the general rule is that any suspected suicide requires a forensic autopsy with or without family consent. It's one reason it's almost impossible to effectively make a murder look like a suicide -- or a suicide look like an accident. Unless you're old or have a well-documented heart condition, you're not likely to fool anyone.

Yep. Pretty much any death suspicious for suicide automatically becomes a medical examiner's case.

I knew two people who used N, stated in their notes what they had taken and they were only given toxicology tests. However, what "ThatIs" said is true, I'm sure. In my county they don't want to spend the money on an autopsy if the cause is obvious.

Well yes, see, in that case the tox screen is the autopsy, which can be any kind of exam to determine cause of death. "Autopsy" doesn't necessarily mean cut stem to stern

This is why I plan on dying and not being found for several days so that my spirit body will have time to exit my physical body before the autopsy.
