The law varies from place to place, but in the US the general rule is that any suspected suicide requires a forensic autopsy with or without family consent. It's one reason it's almost impossible to effectively make a murder look like a suicide -- or a suicide look like an accident. Unless you're old or have a well-documented heart condition, you're not likely to fool anyone.

Well yes, see, in that case the tox screen is the autopsy, which can be any kind of exam to determine cause of death. "Autopsy" doesn't necessarily mean cut stem to stern
