Autism Diagnosis (anyone have it carried out later in life?)

This is really weighing me down. They are asking for more forms and nothing has started diagnosis wise and I haven't even got the grant yet as it's not free. Why is this so fucking difficulty. It's been 4 months since my first email and form fill out to them. I'm DMing people here who have mentioned it as I don't know what to do. I don't have £3800 lying around. Has anyone got it later in western countries (USA, UK, Europe).

yes - it wasn't that expensive but i paid for it out of pocket in the U.S. It was confirmation of what I suspected, but yes, so much paperwork.
