I survived because a family member rescued me.

I hate the fact that other people see themselves as having the right to interfere with someone else's suicide attempt. After all, it's our life and our decision to leave this world and this should be respected.
I'm not that familiar with the tub method, I don't know if it's the same thing as shallow water blackout, but it does sound like an awful experience to manage to get unconscious and then wake up again and still be stuck in the same existence that you desperately so wanted to escape from. But I hope that you find the freedom from your suffering that you wish for when the time is right for you to leave.

What is the Tub Method?

Using a bathtub. I think it's about 60cm deep and 150cm in length.
Good enough for me to drown in any position.

Can't believe it worked nearly! What was it like? How unpleasant was it?

The hyperventilation took the edge off of the pressure of choking myself, but other than that, it was okay, not too unpleasant.

Honestly, I'm glad I was found specifically at that time, could've been worse - brain damage if i was found later.
