Hello all,

I was wondering if it would be possible to hook up an argon gas tank, argon regulator with attached hose, directly to the middle black piece of a respirator

This is the kind of respirator I'm talking about:

I'm guessing any c02 would be exhaled through the white filters?

Thanks

As far as I know there has only been one successful inert gas CTB using a facemask --any kind of facemask-- and that was by an experienced scuba diver who modified his scuba apparatus for the task. Despite how many of us would rather use a mask than an exit bag (including myself, and I have almost the exact respirator you link to), there seem to be many confounding difficulties to the approach --mask dislodgement, inability to adequately purge air, etc. For that reason, I agree with the general PPH protocol that for all practical purposes a mask does not work, and that the exit bag is a far more reliable approach.

If you want to try it, go ahead, but be warned that there is a considerable history of failure with that approach.
