this might sound weird but whenever I hear about people who CTB I wonder if there is a way to avoid it.
I am not talking about celebrities or mysterious suicides. I am talking about just normal people who CTB and their death and problems end up in the news ( local or national).

How to avoid that?

even after you are dead?
whats the point of that?
Especially after death. I feel like it is such an intime choice that I wouldn't like strangers to talk about it

I wouldn't be here to give a fuck, but it might cause stress and unwanted attention to family members and another person who's important to me so yeah I'd rather it doesn't happen.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

no . nothing would matter to me after my Brain dies / Death. i won't exist so i can't have any thoughts or experience. it will be as if i never existed. the universe will be as it doesn't exist forever to me because i won't exist.

i won't even know i'm dead 1 second after my brain dies. i will cease to exist forever . to me it will be as if i never existed and that the universe never existed . after Death i can't ever remember anything that happened in this horrible life,. eternal oblivion is what awaits all . to me non-existence forever is the ultimate bliss.

to me the only thing that exist is the one thing my brain is paying attention to right now at this moment all else doesn't exist at the moment my brain is thinking of one thing. the human brain can think about only one thing at a time. some problem doesn't exist or even i don't even exist to me when i'm distracted thinking focused on something else. it's all about attention . what you are paying attention to what your brain is paying attention to and you are consciuous of what your brain is paying attention to. but when your brain is destroyed/Dead it can't form any thoughts ever again can't pay attention to anything ever again so nothing can matter.

everything in the universe only exists to me as models in my brain . and then only when my brain pays attention to one of those models and then i'm conscious of that thought/ model .

The only way something exists to me or any human is 1. the brain has to be working alive . 2. the brain has to pay attention to a model of that thing. 3. the brain has to be conscious that the brain is paying attention to that model of something. otherwise if you /your brain is not thinking of something it doesn't exist to you at that moment and you can only think about one thing one problem at a time .

consciousness ceases forever upon death,. eternal oblivion, non-existence forever eternal nothingness is the only guarantee of never suffering extremely so the best thing to me by a trillion times,

I know everyone is trying to be nihilistic and technical, but yeah, right now I care if my death ended up on the news.

I don't want ugly photos of me and my name broadcast on the local news for people who may remember me from the past to go, "Oh! I think I knew her!"

I've hidden myself away here for decades basically and the last anyone knew of me was in high school and I was a loser weirdo then, and the public announcement of my suicide would just be the immortal solidification of that - "lived a loser in her youth; died a loser in her almost-middle-age".

Nah, fuck that.

I won't care after I'm dead but I do think about it while I'm still here. My only worry is that for some reason the media will latch on to the story and will try to make a thing out of it for political purposes. I'm transgender and my method will be a gun. Two hot political topics in the US right there. "Another trans person commits suicide." "How was he allowed to purchase a gun with his mental health history." etc...

Of course the odds of that happening are extremely small. But it's weird what gets blown up into some big national story and what doesn't.

I only care because I'd really like to just disappear and be forgotten. But I can't control what happens.

That would never happen here. They think that writing about suicide in the news will cause a wave of people spontaneously killing themselves. If it's suicide it always written like "A man was found dead in his home early Monday morning. There is no suspiscion of a crime."

Part of me would kind of like being in the news. There are so many people I work with, students I have taught, people who have had influenced my life, who will never know why I just disappeared. Maybe it would be easier for them to not know. I know it's cooler to say "no one cares we'll be dead anyway and the world is shit" but I don't just want to be forgotten

Not even a little, chances are almost null to it happen with ordinary people. Just think about the people from SaSu who've already CTB, did any of them appeared in their local news? I don't think so, media tend to cover only suicides of famous people.

At least where I live (and in most of the US for that matter), suicides aren't covered unless you are famous or there is something to make it an interesting story which is usually not the case. You might end up in the obituaries though but who reads that?

News about suicides is not usually broadcast on TV here, as there is a belief that "more similar cases will occur" if information is given.

People nearby (neighbors) may be gossiping about what happened. But there is not much we can do, people always like to talk and draw their own "conclusions." They'll forget about it in a few days, I guess.

i'd rather not have anyone know at all, but i live in a really small town, just a few hundred people, so it probably would be a big thing. ultimately, though, it won't really matter to me though. i'll be dead, so i won't really care

I saw a woman CTB in a parking lot using hydrogen sulfide on the news. They never released her name, but I feel you on not wanting your name in the news. It's embarrassing.

I kinda expect to be in the news when I go this way. Detergent suicide is a very deadly suicide method from Japan. I don't care though. I'm tired and people have short memories. The news informed me I can CTB this way. If it helps others in pain, good.

In a smaller town, a suicide might make the news. I'm not at all concerned about it where I live. Even if it did, I don't care. Don't have any family, so don't have to "worry" about ridicule or shame towards them. And if strangers want to talk about me after I'm dead, why would I care? Whatever floats their boat.

There might be a local article, but truly, nobody cares. It's usually only about how mental health support failed someone.

As a person who once worked in the news business, most legitimate newsrooms are loath to reveal the name of someone who has killed themselves.

There are exceptions, such as a celebrity or if there is something unusual about it, like six people all jointly jumping off the same high building.

Now I worked for a mainstream media outlet - the tabloid press liked anything that sold papers. But a single suicide generally is not news

I just really hope my family does not get harassed because their t****y daughter (sorry if referring to myself using slurs is not allowed let me know) CTBed. I don't think there will be any kind of news story because I'm just a random girl. But then again, I will be using SN which is an uncommon suicide method and I do plan on CTBing with another individual on this forum. I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope to God that there is no news coverage of my death.
