I posted on a suicide group in 2015 right before my failed attempt. I wrote everyone back after getting out of psyche.

I've said before on other threads, I've found this place useful and I'm glad I found it. In many ways, it's reassured me that I'm not going insane. But when my time does come - which I feel is going to be very soon - I'll have enough to deal with keeping my nerve with that, not messaging here. No offence to anyone, though.

If this forum is still around when I finally ctb, I would send farewell PMs to those who have PMed me. And sure, I would probably write a brief goodbye post. But since I don't plan to ctb any time soon (it would be at least three years and as many as 13 years in my future), I don't know whether SS will still be around in something resembling its current form.

I understand why people would want too and why other people wouldnt.

Personally, I think everyone should say good bye. We've all chatted on here and made some friends.

Alot of us are in the same situation and by that I mean alot of us are in pain.

We share ideas and talk to people who understand what we are going through.

Again, not everyone feels like this and thats fine.

if people don't want to say goodbye before ctb because of fear of failing on the last minute (survival instinct) there might be an alternative i think
just install boomerang in gmail and schedule to send an email days after you attempt ctb

if you planned ctb for day 1 schedule gmail to send automatically an email on day 3, if you fail you can cancel the email, if not the email will be sent automatically on the day scheduled and someone will share the news
