I prefer dogs.
I never had a connection with cats.
Plus I hate their claws, they always end up scratching you.

I have 18 lbs of floofy love sitting on my lap right now. He feels like a furry hot water bottle, and his purring is incredibly soothing.

I have always preferred dogs, big ones at that. Never really liked or disliked cats because I never had any around. lol I recently visited a friend though and she has this incredibly soothing and friendly cat. They are a lot harder to read (to me anyways), but I could watch them for hours.

That is interesting, but note it was done in Korea. Toxoplasmosis is much, much less common in first-world countries (that's probably not politically correct and I'm sorry). The CDC says: In the United States it is estimated that 11% of the population 6 years and older have been infected with Toxoplasma. In various places throughout the world, it has been shown that more than 60% of some populations have been infected with Toxoplasma.

To get it from a cat, the cat has to ingest something infected with it, ie, a rodent, bird, lizard, etc. Then, the person cleaning the litter box has to come into direct contact with the infected cat's stool, then practice poor hygiene (no handwashing) and ingest the parasite themselves.

Source: I have been pregnant while owning cats, so I researched this. It's not very easy to get toxoplasmosis.

Dog person my dad is allergic to cats so i could never have one and i'm slightly allergic they make my eyes extremely itchy and puffy and i sneeze alot. dogs are also big snugglers.

I like both, cats usually come to me and I give all the love. Dogs can have their moments but are certainly more in your face about it, I give love to any creature I can though I have been bitten before working at a pet salon but still, no hard feelings.

Fluffy puppers of cuddleness are the way to go. I do have a very well behaved smelly good pup too who gives me my space and isn't annoying. He is basically a person. A very adorable cuddly person.
