Method are there any ctb methods that if you failed, wouldn't leave (obvious) marks

i'm scared that if i fail, someone might notice. are there any decently reliable methods that are hard to detect if it fails?

The fear to fail is imo the biggest fear that makes us hestitating. If you used inert gas with SCBA or exit bag, and u decide in the last second to stop it, that wouldn't leave any marks, all other methods leave either chemical traces in your body or visbile traces on your skin.

Drug OD, that will depend whether the attempt failed "at home" or in a hospital. That could be easily analyzed if others become involved.
