Anime is not my thing, but at some point a couple years ago I ran in to this series. I was doing a lot of retro tech-related stuff, and I saw something about this late 90s anime that had something to do with computers and weird existential shit. I was intrigued, so I watched the first... 3 or 4 episodes? Can't really remember. Last scene I remember is some weird, surreal hallucination where Lain is in the middle of a crowded street.
I liked the aesthetics of it all. I remember a scene where Lain is walking down a street and all you can hear is the hum of the power lines above her. I'm a sucker for 90s nostalgia, to be honest.
I didn't watch any more episodes after the surreal hallucination one, though. I think I just got distracted with something else. So I really can't talk too much about it. Still, I'm kind of curious. What makes it one of your favourites?
