Anyone stuck in a dead-end job? It's not the prime reason why I want to CTB but it's one of the reasons why life sucks.

YES. It's awful. My boss is an absolute nightmare and upper management knows but refuses to do anything about it because they "feel sorry for her" mental instability. She steals my work all the time. I think, "Is this it? I get up and do this every day until I die? What's the point??!"

Yes, it's an absolute living nightmare! Just look around at the miserable looks on people's faces in the morning rush hour. Look at the road sweeper toiling in freezing cold weather. Pro-lifers are fond of preaching about life but not it's terrible consequences! And they tell you life is great!

Currently unemployed and am a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training.). I don't really like working but I could see the importance of doing so in order to afford methods, afford copes, and just to survive. I did, however, work in 2019, but mostly part time. It wasn't terribly bad but not something that I am 'excited' to do.

I sure am. It's one of my main reasons for going because I'm tired of living and working is one of the worse aspects that I'm ready to leave behind forever.

The pay is infinitely better and so are the hours. Where do I sign a contract to do this for the rest of my life instead of other work?

Ask Stan. ;)
I'll make sure to do that when I see him personally. For now I can't quite make out what he's saying like I said.

More on topic every low tier trash bottom of the barrel job is the same in the end. Some of us don't want higher education or can't afford it so we get screwed in the process for not magically having connections that we might not even know how to make. Just wanted to list another reason why this is something that drives me towards ctb. The world won't abide by my way of living so I'm taking my ball and going home and not playing it's completely nonsensical game.

I've been at the same job for 15 years. I'm actually maxed out on pay. Only move for me is to go to another department.

I stupidly took a paycut to move somewhere and then sabotaged career as teacher.
If I had just stayed where I was could've ridden it out til retirement. Woops.

Yep, I'm sitting here on a 12 hour night shift twiddling my thumbs bored out of my tiny little brain. 12 hours on my own seeing no one to go home to be on my own and what makes it worse is it doesn't even cover my bills so from next week I'll be working 6 to 7 nights a week. All just to keep existing. What's the point!

Yes, and I had so much promise in a different industry. Not a primary reason for CTB but it sure doesn't help. Seeing my old school mates and guys I used to fly with rubs it in

Yes I am. Only good thing is that I've become relatively good friends with some of my co-workers. If one of them ends up leaving one day however it'll make my job so much more miserable to deal with.

Mine's a dead end job. Only worked here for 9 months but started as a temp, went permanent afrer 6 weeks and was made shop floor manager 6 weeks later. It's a warehouse and no higher to go but, believe it or not, I absolutely love it. Often work 7 days a week just to be somewhere that's not home because, at home, there's nothing for me to do except think about my reasons for wanting to ctb.

The problem is not about a specific job, but in general. When you got your degree, nobody wants you cause you don't have experience, and you will never have that experience without a job. On the other hand, even if you have experience and know that job better than anyone else, they force you to get degree, courses, license, etc. Especially US sucks with jobs. There are lots of people homeless and asking for money and all the government do is just offer stupid job clubs and tell you to find yourself a job. And of course the best places taken by friends and family members, so if your uncle is not CEO in company then you're nothing in there.

pfft. fuck yeah. and I've been there, well this year will be 25yrs at the same place. my first and only job, believe it or not. I've always hated it. but it's also all I know. and at this point to start a new job at min wage would suck. took a long time to get where i'm at. i'm not proud of it, but It's a job. it really does bring negative feelings and thoughts though. I know i'm a loser that would never amount to anything more.

I've mostly been self employed because I couldn't deal with the boredom, office politics, douchey coworkers, requirements, and unreasonable expectations at many jobs. The main benefit is nobody can fire u, let u go, you're not dependent on that one place for your income which can leave u in a place of little power in comparison to the employer.
