I smoked weed pretty consistently for the past 12 years or so. But once I cold turkey quit my Zoloft/sertraline a couple of years ago, it just sort of stopped working for me. I don't know if there was a synergy between the weed and the Zoloft that was producing my actual "high," or if cold turkey off of the Zoloft left my nervous system in such a sensitized state that I can't tolerate the weed any more. Either way, I'm sad that it no longer works, because it was a great distraction from the shitty state my life has been in since my accident and all of the other meds I've been on. Now it just makes me anxious and borderline psychotic, even in teeny, tiny amounts (just a pinch at the bottom of a small bowl). Other "substances", like caffeine, have been similar. Before coming off of the Zoloft I would drink 3-4 cups of coffee / day. Now even 1/2 of a cup gives me brain fog and the jitters. So maybe it is just that my nervous system has been sensitized...
