Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Ok... One of my favourite amusing stories. After the radio broadcast of 'War of the Worlds', a farmer coming home drunk took a shot at a water tower (with his shot gun.) I just love that on so many levels. One- that a water tower probably would look like one of those alien creatures in silhoette to someone drunk and Two- that he wanted to do his bit to defend the earth. Lol.
I am chronically obsessed with arcade rhythm games.
A legal Taiko no Tatsujin arcade machine has finally hit the United States earlier this month in select locations. Similar with maimai DX.
It is rare to find a legally obtained arcade rhythm game in the United States due to legal license reasons and are mostly found in Round1s. All legal Chunithm machines in the country is running on Chunithm PARADISE LOST (2021), which is outdated.
Konami had to remove the default Rasis from the title screen and navigator of SDVX earlier this year because she appeared to be too sexualized for the American audience. She has jiggly physics when she moves. Parents might of been offended.
Groove Coaster arcade machines stopped updating new songs in 2022 because the storage space in the machines ran out.
WACCA was Marvelous' only arcade rhythm game.
maimai machines have copyright protection on its physical parts, and will brick itself if you attempt to manually replace broken parts (partially the touchscreen).
Most Konami rhythm game machines are unplayable without internet connection, as it is mandatory to force connect to their servers to play, even if you don't have an account. They intend to disable ALL SDVX vivid wave machines in the coming future to only allow the game to be played on exceed gear valkyrie machines (generally the game game but with a few upgrades and visual changes). If you are not given an official offline kit by Konami, that expensive machine is mostly rendered useless.
The company behind maimai, Chunithm, and O.N.G.E.K.I. (SEGA) is behind Sonic the Hedgehog, and some of the songs from the series appears as charts.
StepManiaX allows you to create custom charts of existing songs to play on the machine via smartphone app.
Most modern rhythm games don't have a typical username & password login, but instead a card with a computer chip inside that has a number identification called an "access code" which logs you in to the server with a single scan. No data is stored on the card itself.
Because the games originally were outside English speaking countries, some songs in the game have profanity, such as Sound Chimera by Laur. In home versions (such as Groove Coaster Wai Wai Party), it is censored.
While maimai has buttons to hit, you can also touch the touchscreen near the buttons to get the same result.
I probably got some things slightly wrong but this is how much I'm committed to these machines. These are literally the only things that keep me happy and sane.
I hope my body never rejects the sleeping pills I keep abusing. I can't imagine being awake for a whole day. I plan to sleep 22hrs today and the other 2 hrs I must eat and drink water.
In Canada, a wealthy lawyer passed away and left one condition in his will: his entire fortune would go to the woman in his town who would give birth to the most children within 10 years. The announcement sparked a baby boom, with several women competing to win the inheritance. After a decade, the winner was chosen based on who had the most kids. The whole thing lead to a mix of excitement, drama and controversy.
There were several disputes and court cases over which children would be acknowledged as legitimate candidates for the inheritance. Questions arose about birth timing, paternity, and whether children conceived outside of marriage met the criteria.
I have nothing interesting to say, but I do have some interesting screenshots from some unaired Spongebob scenes that I want to share. They weren't used due to the test auidience feeling that they were a bit too graphic for a children's show. I'll add a NSFW warning just in case.
