Yeah , seems this is the process. There is no guarantee of getting greenlighted.

Is it Dignitas or Pegasos or some other association where you got a provisional green light?
How many people here who are below 28 years old flew to Pegasos and got problems there or got rejected ?

No idea. But for people above 50 also it seems difficult, so age might not be the exact reason.

Hello,

I'm thinking of applying to a Switzerland VAD because of my ongoing health problems and current suffering. Anyone else also applying to Pegasos, Dignitas or Lifecircle? Any companionship is welcome. Maybe we can do an Euthnasia together?

Even if you don't have the means to apply to a Swiss VAD, but have a valid case that may get accepted, message me. I'd love to talk to you more. Maybe I can pay for your VAD and we can go through it together.

Cheers,
Eashan
me! please pm me so we can discuss this further

Can you please help me, I cannot post a new post or search for keywords in the forum , how can I do that?

Also I read somewhere in a post two weeks ago that there is someone here who can assist with the application to pegasos, do you have any idea about this ?

There is a Post thread button. I am not sure if any specific access is needed to get it. There is also a search icon on top right.

I am not sure if there is any one representing Pegasos in this forum .

you don't just fly out there, you need to 'join' them for 100 euros. then fill out an application with a 5000 euro deposit.

Do the clinics in Switzerland ask applicants of VAD to sign up agreement to become donor for organ and/or tissue for transplant or pharmaceutical research after death?

i doubt it, you're poisoned yourself, your organs might not be viable.

sorry, i do not understand what three medical records are?
he just told me to send medical records upon my brief description about my life stories, circumstances and life long depression

His last name is Flowers. Damian Flowers. I don't think he is a doctor. Can I ask what basis you applied for VAD at Pegasos on? I thought 50 was the magic number for getting approved for VAD. :(

just found that DF is international relations director it says, probably he is the one who deals with foreigners wanting VAD
Damian is not a physician for sure. Check out the site.

Medical records from your doctor etc.
if you're just depressed then it won't happen. If you've got a disability then yes, they will no doubt give you the green light. Damien is just doing is job. He can't VAD someone without a valid medical reason. He'd be breaking the law. Have you £10k plus needed

It s called "VAD" but organisations such as Pegasos have to stick to certain rules by the government. They cannot send everyone who is willing to die to death. There would be great problems for them. THey have to be able to justify why they thought this person was terminally ill. Be it physical or mental. It sounds good, Volountary Assisted Suicide. But its actually not as easy to access at all. There s a lot of pressure from societiy and media, too. The founder of Pegasos got sued several times for giving someone Natrium Pentobarbital. She hat to justify at court and got expensive fines.

i have some questions about VAD, if anyone knows the answer...

i have fibromyalgia, depression, generalized anxiety, autism, ADHD, suspected dissociative identity disorder and OCD traits.

i am 18 years old. i've tried different medications and different therapy and psychiatric professionals. i've been undergoing treatment since i was 7 years old if i remember correctly.

is this enough to be accepted? i mean, if i get the medical reports and the money, what are the chances of them approving me?

Unfortunately not my friend.
They wouldn't think your illnesses were painful enough and your age goes against you but there was a very young girl in Holland that did. I'll try and do some reading and get back to you.

You seem to have knowledge on the subject so I allow myself to ask you some questions too. If you don't want to answer, no problem ;)

I am Swiss, live in Switzerland and 29 yo.
I have chronic severe depression (probably bipolar disorder), severe anxiety, eating disorders, bpd and the list can continue. I have been hospitalised at leat 15 times in the last 15 years. Sometimes I was not even able to walk or to speak properly, my relapses are really trash. It's torture.

I also have myalgic encephalomyelitis that is really daily invalidant.

I am not able to work, study or anything.

I tried to ctb many times.

I don't have the money to apply to pegasos. But as I am Swiss, I can try with others. I was thinking about trying to apply to dignitas/exit/life circle. But I am so low in term of energy, it is not easy...

Do you think it worths the try ?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Having ME might help your cause same as bipolar. With bipolar I'd get it certified first.
i can't encourage you but maybe enquire and see what if any application status there are.

illAF, Because you're a Swiss resident you can use Exit. Their fee structure is much different than Dignitas and Pegasos, costing very little, because they have I think something like 150,000 members that pay a small membership fee. They've been around for 40 years I think. Dignitas has resources to pay if you don't have the money, and you can basically join and reach out to them for free, but it's probably an uphill climb to get an assisted suicide, because of your age, and mental health issues. (I joined Dignitas because I like the legislative work they do)

Peace be with you, you have suffered plenty.

Hard to tell.
First of all, each organization has its own rules. I read how Pegasos works and they clearly state that mental illness alone is not a reason not to be accepted.
https://pegasos-association.com/faqs/
So, according to this, if your mental illness causes you unbearable suffering your request might be accepted (in theory).
As others pointed out, in practice it may be very different. Even if you're suffering from both physical and mental ailments you still might be rejected because of your very young age, as it happened before.
But since you're considering suicide, maybe dropping them an email won't do any harm. Worst cane scenario you'll be rejected, you've got nothing to lose.
Also, please read carefully what others have said as they're more knowledgeable than me.
Sorry if this is not the answer you expected, and sorry again for what you're going through.

You're referring to Noa Pothoven. She was 19 and she was denied euthanasia, so she decided to stop eating and drinking (VSED = voluntarily stopping eating and drinking).
She passed at her home with some support from nurses (I believe). Her family supported her decision

Any disability?

Do we need to have tried all measures first or do they respect client right to refuse medical treatment?

Also, if diagnosis of Alzheimer's or dementia does that inhibit approval due to nature of disease?

If you are able to answer greatly appreciated.

Alzheimer's definitely yes. Dignitas assisted Amy Bloom's husband and it is all documented in her book, 'In Love." He was diagnosed in his early 60s and quickly they sought out Dignitas. They got there just in time because at some point with Alzheimer's a patient loses their mental capacity, so that's key. Also in their case the VAD was nearly curtailed because of an errant (careless) marking on medical record that said he had "depression" and so they had to scramble to get a detailed medical report from a doctor in the United States refuting that diagnosis.

Thank you for the info. Just to clarify. If you have mental health diagnoses, even if you have qualifying physical health diagnoses they will deny you?
