As much as I love music, I don't see any reason to have a song playing in my final moments. I just want it done.

That's fair. I'm absolutely using it as a source for comfort. Maybe trick my brain to not freak the fuck out when I actually do it lol

Same here. My favorite music is energetic and enthusiastic, haven't felt like listening to that in months, since my ex left. If I make my final choice, I'd just want it done. Maybe I would have a book besides me, El Aleph by Jorge Luis Borges.

That said, I do have a song I'd like my funeral to open with. Michael X by Casper: it's a song he dedicated to a friend who committed suicide in his youth.

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (Live-Aid version) I want to go during the middle. Right as Freddie Mercury says, "I don't want to die. I sometimes wish I'd never been born at allllll"

Even not understanding the lyrics, I liked the song and the music video, the sunset ending is really beautiful

I'm glad you liked it! My German still has a long way to go, but here's a translated version: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/michael-x-michael-x.html

Two lines always hit me the hardest: "Und deine Mum hält dein Zimmer wie du's gelassen hast An dem Moment, wo dich Willen und Mut verlassen hat" ("And your mum keeps your room the way you left it in the moment where your will and your courage left you" and "Immer noch im vierten Stock in weiß "Ich liebe dich" Nur das Dumme war... Sandra liebte dich auch!" ("Still on the fourth floor, in white, "I love you" But the stupid thing was...Sandra loved you, too!")

It's exactly how I wish would be my mother's reaction if I ctb and the second one makes me think that maybe, just maybe, my Michi loves me too...

When I tried to off myself a few years ago, The Day I Tried To Live and Black Hole Sun were the songs that I played in the background.

I am an Asian. I connected well to the sad, depressing melodies from chinese songs.
I might play Ren Ran's Shi Wo Huo Gai or Jay Chou's Lu Xiao Yu.

Same! Although I'll probably just use the studio version.

I've jumped around between a lot of songs; not sure which I'll end up going with. I'd really like to be listening to something when I die. Something I can focus on as everything fades away. Right now, I'm leaning towards this:

It's Golden Hour Somewhere by Lovejoy
not only does the song hold sentimental value to me, with memories i could never relive, but it's a great end to a great album and covers the topic of suicide. also the lyrics are just beautiful.

Fade to Black by Metallica would be a good fit for you.

I like foo fighters 'These Days". It's a good song to die too

Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake finale, as conducted by Karajan or Yablonsky.
Wagner's Tannhäuser suite, as conducted by Solti.

Swan Lake's finale is sophisticated, both delicate and passionate.
Tannhäuser finale is powerful and profound.

Swan Lake touches on love, passion and devotion.
Tannhäuser touches on sin, atonement and redemption.

In both cases the characters break free from the material world and transcend to the heavens. They both carry a stoic -and of course heroic- significance.

Edit:
I couldn't leave without mentioning this masterpiece...
