Having a chronic illness or a disorder is literally one of the worst fates possible. To have something out of your control limit what you can or cannot do without any ways of fixing it... I seriously don't understand why some of us have to suffer through this. So many people will never be able to achieve anything just because they're born a certain way. Seriously, what's the fucking point of living life if you can't even have anything you want? I wish I was born healthy

I'm incredibly lucky that I never had to deal with any obvious genetic disease. Although, my genes have no doubt given me other, much subtler, unfavorable characteristics. When I see individuals suffering from severe and overt genetic disease, I feel an extra strong disdain for existence, even if that diseased person seems happy.

i feel you. my mothers side of the family has chronic, virtually unpreventable and untreatable intestinal issues and i have started to feel the effects of this. during a flare up i'm in pain for hours everday and theres little to do to fix/prevent it. this will only get worse as i get older and it is a main reason i want to cbt because i want to escape the fate of being in excruciating when i'm older.

I want to ctb because of a severe anxiety disorder, which I'm sure must at least partially be caused by a genetic defect.

Can "genetic defect" include inferior genes that resulted in me being fugly and deformed? Because that's a big reason why I want to do it.

Does ADHD fall under "genetic defect"? If so, yes.

I think being human should be classified as being a genetic defect, in and of itself. Look at the shit that humans do to the planet and the animals, not to mention each other. If that isn't defectiveness, I don't know what is.

Genetic disorders are part of it for me. I have two physical disorders - incurable, chronic, degenerative, painful. Expensive to treat.

In a very literal sense of the phrase I cannot afford to live.

Yes, I have a severe genetic spinal disease called Scheuermann's disease and it is my sole reason for CTB. In short, it is a disease that in 5 years (between 13 and 18 years of age) makes the spine age much quicker than usual, to the level comparable to an 80+ year old person. Unlike many other genetic disorders, this one could have been treated fully, but given the lack of knowledge and concern of my parents and doctors, it was not. Also, there is no national X-ray screening program that would be able to detect the disease early. If I didn't have this disease, I would 100% want to stay alive.

The funny thing is, all my previous life I had been suffering horribly with a severe mental disease. Only because of a stroke of luck I was able to be one of the first people in my country treated for it and cured. For the first time in my life, I was able to have friends,
girlfriend, work, studies, hobbies, sports... now it's all gone, forever, for a completely different reason.

What I'm doing now is sending complaints to the hospitals where I was misdiagnosed. As you can imagine, they're basically laughing at me, saying none of this was their fault.
