This topic is embarrassing to talk about but Porn has ruined my body and soul. I want to stop watching it, but my body craves the release like a drug. I can say with 1000% certainty that porn is like a drug. Like many young kids in school i was introduced to it and from the age of 12 i got hooked. Now 23 even if i try not to watch it or "jack off" my body goes through fucking withdrawals from not having a release or that rush of chemicals you get. I feel like this is an addiction that is very hard to talk about in public because it's so embarrassing. This is one of the biggest reasons i am going to CTB, i want to be free from this once and for all. I cannot even look at woman like normal because my mind just looks at them as meat and i hate it. PLEASE IF YOUR YOUNG DO NOT WATCH PORN. It will rob your soul. Our there any other people in here who can relate? I am prob the only one :(

You're not alone. I have a wider sex addiction which I won't go into here. I tried the 12-steps last summer but did not have the strength at the time to keep going with it.

Sending you my strength and best wishes.

You're not the only one.

I don't have a porn addiction, but I've always had a concern for my friend. He is never online anymore, and he is so secretive about how he spends his time.

You're not the only one, I think your in a minority who realise. The majority are unlikely to admit they have a problem.

I'm curious, is it something you surrender to when you're bored? Do you have any other interests that arn't porn?

I personally don't watch porn but i do indulge myself in some pump-action pain relief on the daily.

The only reason i do it is because it kills my chronic headaches for a while, whole body feels lighter as a result.

I'd probably squirt 5 minutes in if i had a lover, it does make you last a bit less 😉 😅

I am at the point where even if i purposely try not to think about it I'll get rushes of energy or urges then the more i fight it the harder or more powerful it gets till i just give in.

I've never used alcohol, tobacco, or any kind of drugs, even including coffee and energy drinks. I like keeping my body completely clean and free from dependence. However, I usually can't go a single day without resorting to extreme degeneracy. It's one of the only things to help me pass the time, but I'm honestly happier when I avoid it. Yet the need for dopamine releases ends up taking over.

Good job, you reminded me of myself only a few years ago when i never tried anything.

It can start as one innocent thing and spiral into more, especially with a depressed mind seeking refuge.

1. Tried cigars, got really into them.
2. Started drinking the odd bottle.
3. Quit cigars
4. Started weed
5. Weed permanently stops working.
6. Back to the odd bottle now.

Thankfully my depression prevents all of these becoming addictions, i get constant fatigue when i think about indulging in one. I can smoke weed and quit instantly for months.

I would keep your clean streak, serves you better.

It's definitely not an issue many people are willing to openly talk about. I think discussing porn addiction is largely stigmatized because most people don't understand how it affects you on a spiritual and emotional level. It can be very hard to realize you have a problem, and even harder to overcome that problem.

I'm sorry that you are going through something so vile as this addiction. I know how difficult it can be to break the vicious cycle, how much it drains you emotionally and psychologically. It's a sad reality to face that acts of real human intimacy and connection has largely been corrupted and twisted by pornography.

I would like to admit that I too have struggled with this vice for many years. It has made me insecure, miserable, and has robbed me many times of true emotional fulfillment. I've had countless relationships fall apart because using porn has made me increasingly insecure, ashamed, and chronically depressed. It all starts out small, but once pornography sinks its teeth into you it's very difficult to break free from its destructive influence.

You're not alone in this struggle. Pornography has ensnared the minds of many, and it's vile how it slowly corrupts you more and more until you are miserable and alone. Porn makes you a slave to your own senses and it is truly depressing. I genuinely hope that you will be able to overcome your struggle and find true emotional fulfillment with someone you love.

I used to and it is a factor in why I want to ctb. I was ultimately ashamed and uncomfortable with it and I don't want to go back. The only trouble I've had since quitting a couple months ago was seeing something triggering that gave me a couple nightmares about it.

What do you access porn with? You might want to get rid of whatever device you're using and dedicate yourself to keeping any new devices clean and free of porn.

I'd say yes, and same sentiment, you're not really alone. It's just something that's difficult to talk about.

Yes I have this problem too. But I believe it is possible to quit. It might be similar to gaming addiction and just browsing addiction.

I had one as a child! If you're looking to CTB because of this alone, I'd look into behavioral therapies first. Porn addiction is widespread. More people have it than you think. Therefore, there are resources for it and proven treatment methods. Maybe look into those? If you're gonna die anyway, what's the harm in trying something like this, even if it might not work?

idk how helpful therapy is in these cases and i understand that u might be too embarrassed to talk with a professional about it but if ur open for therapy then it wouldn't hurt to try and reach out.

for me it's kind of the opposite, when i wasn't depressed i could jack off several times a week without problem, but when i got constantly depressed i cannot get horny anymore, maybe due to porn burnout or anhedonia that it just doesn't satisfy me anymore

Used to, but taking Zoloft killed it. I'm not saying to lie to doctors or anything but if you just so happen to have depression it's worth looking into 😜

Yes porn addiction is very real and completely debilitating for me. I have never really done hard drugs but I imagine that it is just as addictive as some hard drugs for some people. Especially due to its ease of access and ubiquity. Porn is definitely the largest factor in my life that led to all kinds of mental and physical dysfunction. I do not think society at large yet realizes or is willing to admit the massive amount of damage that porn does. Porn has without a doubt ruined my life/mind/body beyond repair. Not easy to talk about with anyone but it is the truth.

Same and now that depression and trauma has given me anhedonia trying to quit is futile, every time I try I realise I can't enjoy anything else due to how depressed I am so why not go back to watching porn? And I'm also aware of how it makes me objectify women, which makes me feel so guilty and repulsive. It also has given me all these weird fantasies that if I ever disclosed out loud would get me put on a watch list and the most frustrating thing is I don't even watch porn depicting those fantasies yet I still get intrusive thoughts about them presumably because porn makes your tastes/preferences so hyper specific since you get used to seeing and thinking of regular sex?

I don't have a porn addiction because I don't get horny as much as I used to. Also, I have noticed that porn addiction tends to be more an issue males have than females do. I've never met a woman with a porn addiction, but I've met so many guys told me about their struggles with porn addiction.

My heart goes out to you, I hope you can escape this problem and find peace.

You are not alone in this. I know you feel embarrassed, but doctors and therapists will have already heard from others the same problem and are here to help. At least try once before you ctb to seek help. It's worth giving yourself one shot at recovery surely?

Honestly, I've heard of several people going through the exact same as you AND, most importantly, I've heard of recovery from it. Wishing you well.

You could try an snri antidepressant medication. The biggest side effect is a drastic reduction in sex drive.

Addiction is what I would call it only in the case if you do it constantly when you don't feel like doing it. Because then you're just trying to feel joy that will only leave you with regret afterwards.

Otherwise, it's completely normal and doesn't affect your life in any way.

There's nothing embarrassing about it. Almost every person does it because that's what a human being does.
