Discussion Anyone attempted suicide without anyone noticing?

I attempted several times as a child and never got caught. Even for 2 attempts where I got very close to succeeding (suspension hanging - bike rack broke before death, overdose in tub - woke up after somehow hurling my guts out over the side at 6 in the morning) I managed to not get caught and no one to this day has ever found out about it. I'm wondering if anyone else has had as similar experience when they were younger, or otherwise had other people living in the house with them?

I have very mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I managed to succeed in not getting caught. On the other, I hate myself for the small part of me that wishes anyone could have noticed. I went to great lengths to make sure no one would notice, and I know that whoever noticed would have made my life worse for it, but still. What stupid horrible times.

i've overdosed without telling anyone!! i was maybe 11 or something, i took 2000mg of ibuprofen and was puking for an entire day, but i just told them i was sick with a stomach bug ⊂(´• ω •`⊂)

No one in my life knows about my attempts. I've had 3-4 serious ones in the last couple of years. It's profoundly sad.

me ^_^ I tried in the last two weeks and no one noticed. Its probably because im too pussy to go all out so I didn't leave any bruising or markings in my neck but I just felt like trying since everything was falling apart.

I would think that's how it usually is? Not like a livestream of it happening. Though I guess some people are narcissists and want people to see?

i have at least two attempts that went unnoticed, one was just bc i was out of the house at the time and never told my family abt it and the other time i hung myself partial suspension but chickened out halfway through

Although I agree that most attempts are usually unnoticed, I do not believe wanting witness is narcissistic.

it's more exhibitionist than narcissist i think. and the people who want to watch it are voyeurs.
